    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To permit a shuttle bus to smoothly travel a crossing by shortening the lighting time of a 'red' signal for necessary time in the case of a 'red' signal when a first sensor on this side of the signal at the crossing detects that the shuttle bus arrives at the crossing in specified time bands in the morning and evening. SOLUTION: Sensors 5a-5h detecting a shuttle bus detect specified signals emitted from the shuttle buses 6a and 6b. Detection signals 7a-7h outputted from the sensors 5a-5h are inputted to a control machine 4. If a signal 3c is 'red' when the first sensor 5a detects the shuttle bus 6a, the signal changes from 'red' to 'green' before the shuttle bus 6a reaches a crossing 2 and the shuttle bus 6a smoothly passes the crossing 2 in a first case. In a second case, the shuttle bus 6a temporarily stops on this side of the crossing 2 until the signal changes from 'red' to 'green' but the signal waiting time of the shuttle bus 6a is shortened in the specified time band when roads are likely to be congested.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To permit a shuttle bus to smoothly travel a crossing by installing first sensors detecting the shuttle bus in a position on this side of a signal, detecting the shuttle bus with the first sensors in the specified time band of weekdays and prolonging the lighting time of a 'green' signal for necessary time at the time of the 'green' signal. SOLUTION: Shuttle bus detection sensors 5a-5h detect shuttle buses 6a and 6b and detection signals 7a-7h outputted from the sensors 5a-5h are given to a signal control machine 4. The first sensors 5a-5d are installed in prescribed positions on this side of signals 3a-3d (on this side of signal by 50 m, for example). Second sensors 5e-5h are installed in prescribed positions past the second sensors 5e-5h (positions past the signal by 5 m, for example). If the signal 3a is 'green' when the sensor 5a detects the shuttle bus 6a, the lighting time of the 'green' signal of the signal 3a is prolonged for necessary time so that the shuttle bus 6a can pass the crossing 2 without temporarily stopping.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To permit a line bus to smoothly pass an intersection by changing the lighting time of a 'blue' signal in accordance with the speed of the line bus in a specified time band on weekdays when roads are congested. SOLUTION: When a line bus 3 travels in the direction of a T-shaped road and it passes on sensors S1 and S2, for example, the travel speed of the line bus 3 is calculated from a time difference when sensor signals SS1 and SS2 are inputted to a controller 5 and the interval L of the sensors S1 and S2. When the travel speed of the line bus 3 is slower than a specified speed which is previously set in a specified time band on weekdays, the line bus 3 is considered to be driven slowly owing to congestion and a signal 4a is specially controlled for smoothly opening the line bus 3. Namely, the 'blue' lighting time of the signal 4a is prolonged for a necessary time and the bus is controlled to pass through the T-shaped road without temporarily stopping before the T-shaped road 2 even if the travel speed of the line bus 3 is slower than the specified speed.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten the time for a bus on a regular route to temporarily stop for waiting a signal by providing a sensor arranged in front of a traffic signal for detecting the bus on the regular route traveling toward the traffic signal, and performing control so as to shorten the turning-on time of 'red' signal on the basis of the velocity of the bus on the regular route calculated on the basis of this sensor signal. SOLUTION: Sensors S1-S5 for detecting bus on regular route generate sensor signals only when the bus on the regular route passes on the respective sensors. The sensors S1 and S2 are arranged at a prescribed interval L in front of a traffic signal 4a and the sensors S3-S5 are arranged in the rear of a T-shaped crossing 2. A traveling velocity V of the bus 3 on the regular route is calculated from a time difference T in the case of inputting sensor signals SS1 and SS2 from the sensors S1 and S2 to a controller 5. When this traveling velocity V is lower than a set velocity V0, slow driving caused by traffic jam is judged and the time of turn on the 'red' signal in the traffic signal 4a is shortened to a preset time.

Controller 4 controls the lighting of the traffic signals 3a to 3d, sensors 5a to 5h detect a shuttle bus, and outputted signals 7a to 7h are inputted to the controller 4. A shuttle bus 6a currently travels on road 1a in the direction of an arrow (c) and approaches the intersection 2. If the traffic signal 3c is 'red' when the shuttle bus 6a is detected by the sensor 5a, the shuttle bus 6a makes temporary stop just in front of the intersection 2 until the signal changes from the 'red' to 'green'. However, the 'red' lighting time of the traffic signal 3c is controlled so as to reduce a required time in order to reduce a signal waiting time of the shuttle bus 6a.

      SOLUTION: The 1st and 2nd display boards 7a and 7b which display traffic information regarding an emergency vehicle are provided in front of the intersection of 1st and 2nd roads 1a and 1b to display information regarding an emergency vehicle 4. Then 1st sensors 8a-1 and 8a-2 provided in front of the intersection 2 of the 1st and 2nd roads 1a and 1b detect an emergency vehicle. Further, 2nd sensors 8b-1 to 8b-4 are provided behind the intersection 2. The 1st and 2nd sensors both receive a signal characteristic of the emergency vehicle sent from the emergency vehicle and supplies sensor signals to a controller 9 installed nearby the intersection 2. The the 1st display board 7 indicates that the emergency vehicle is approaching from behind and the 2nd display board 7b indicates that the emergency vehicle is met at the intersection.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stop vehicles going into a tunnel when a signal line is disconnected by rock fall or the like by providing a receiver of signal line at an inlet of a tunnel, and interlocking an indicator with the operation of a camera for photographing the rock fall condition of the inlet in response to a change of the received signal. SOLUTION: A signal source and a receiver are arranged through a signal line as a sensor in a protecting net 3, and a camera 7 to be operated with a change of the signal received by the receiver is provided. In this case, a rock, which is fallen onto the net 3, is photographed by the camera 7 provided on a pole 9. Furthermore, in the case where a rock is fallen, an indicator or a signal provided on the pole 9 is operated for indication, or a signal 11 is switched to RED so as to alarm a driver of a vehicle 5. In the case where the signal line is disconnected by the rock fallen onto the net 3, image of a field of rock fall is transmitted as an emergency road information to a center for controlling the road. At the same time, an alarm is generated to a vehicle coming toward the tunnel. With this structure, generation of rock fall in an outlet of the tunnel is detected, and the information thereof is transmitted to a vehicle coming toward the inlet so as to prevent the escalation of an accident due to the rock fall.
