    • PURPOSE:To improve the stirring capability of the machining liquid in a machining tank without the whole change of an electric discharge machine to cope with the upsizing of the machining tank by arranging a suction port and a discharge port of the machining liquid in the machining tank, and providing a machining liquid circulating means to circulate the machining liquid in the machining tank. CONSTITUTION:A second machining liquid circulating means 50 to circulate the machining liquid in a machining tank having a suction port and a discharge port is provided on the machining tank 3 in addition to a first machining liquid circulating means 49 to circulate the machining liquid through the machining liquid tank of the electric discharge machine, the machining tank 3, and the machining liquid tank. The suction port of the second machining liquid circulating means 50 is provided not in the tank, but in the machining tank 3, and the machining liquid in the machining tank 3 is stirred by sucking/discharging the machining liquid in the machining tank 3. The adaptability of the electric discharge machine is improved by chaning only the capacity of the second machining liquid circulating means 50 to match the size of this machining tank 3.

    • PURPOSE:To provide a constant ratio of consumption of an electrode by providing a current generating means for generating various current, a time setting means for setting current generating time and a wave form controlling means for generating the current of wave form changing continuously the size. CONSTITUTION:A counter 15 counts the number of pulses of pulse signal generated by a clock circuit 1 to generate the binary coded count value from the counter output terminals 15a-15d, and a decoder 16 generates the decoded output of counted value of counter 15 so that a central processing unit 21 memorizes time of generating discharge current. Next, a latch writing circuit 20 indicates the latch to latch circuits 19a-19d and a latch reading circuit 18 indicates the output from latch circuits 19a-19d to a data selector 17. Thus, since current having wave form changing continuously the size is generated, discharge current providing a constant consumption ratio of an electrode is obtained.

    • PURPOSE:To avoid abnormal processing by calculating the dispersion value of interpolar resistance dropping time as the passage time with a dispersion value calculator, judging thereupon eventual abnormal processing, and by changing over the electrode regular pullup condition automatically. CONSTITUTION:A Td measuring apparatus 12 measures the no-load time Td of each discharge waveform, and on the basis of the result therefrom a discharge waveform classifier 13 classifies discharge pulses into immediate discharge D1, normal discharge D2, and open D3, which is counted by counters 14-16, and according to the determined frequency a controller 18 makes servo feeding of electrode. On the other hand, the dispersion value of the interpolar resistance dropping time Tc of each discharge waveform measured by a Tc measuring apparatus 26 is calculated by a Tc dispersion value calculator 28 with the aid of a memory 27. A processing condition judging device 29 judges whether processing is normal upon the Tc dispersion value exceeding the specified level, and if abnormal, a controller 30 makes automatic changeover of the electrode regular pullup condition. This avoids abnormal processing certainly to accomplish stable and effective processing.

      SOLUTION: This electrical discharge machining device is provided with an electrode 1 and a head 4 moving an electrode constituting section including an electrode mounting section 2 for holding the electrode 1 relatively to a workpiece 8, generating a desired electric potential difference between the opposed electrode 1 and the workpiece 8 to perform machining. An insulating spacer 3 is arranged to electrically insulate the electrode constituting section from the head 4. The device is provided with: the feeder wire 10 connected to feed an electrode side electric potential to the electrode constituting section by a power source 13 for the electrical discharge machining device; and the feeder wire 11 connected to feed a workpiece side electric potential to the head 4 by the power source 13, and the head 4 is electrically connected to the workpiece 8.

    • PURPOSE:To make a fine powder difficult to settle in a T-slot during machining, easily wash away the fine powder after the machining or at the switching of a machining solution, and shorten the working time by providing the T-slot having an inclined bottom surface on a surface plate for placing a work. CONSTITUTION:A T-slot 22 having an inclined bottom surface provided on a surface plate for placing a work 20 makes a fine powder difficult to settle in the T-slot, and facilitates the washing of the fine powder. As an easy method, it is effective to make the groove of the T-slot 22 entirely deep. Further, it is also effective to spray a machining solution along the inclined bottom surface by an injection device. The fine powder fed by the T-slot 22 having the inclined bottom surface is preferably recovered in a powder tank by properly opening a discharge shutter. The inclination of the bottom surface of the T-slot 22 is set to, for example, about 2 deg.-7 deg., but the inclination is desirably determined according to conditions because the dimension of the T-slot 22 is changed in relation to the dimension and form of the work 22.
