    • The invention relates to a method for producing and processing polyester block copolymers, in particular, polyester side-chain grafted, rigid side-chain and/or semi-rigid side-chain polymers. According to the invention, the monomeric units of rigid side-chain and/or semi-rigid side-chain polymers are, preferably in the melt, polycondensated together with monofunctionalized and/or difunctionalized, cyclic dicarboxylic acid anhydrides to form polymers having anhydride terminal and/or side groups. The formed polyester anhydrides are reacted with the hydroxyl groups and/or with the ester groups of meltable linear polyesters in order to form side-chain grafted, rigid side-chain and/or semi-rigid side-chain polymers and, together with meltable polyesters, they form molecularly reinforced blends. These blends can be shaped into filaments or fibers having a high orientation of the reinforcing polymer or they serve as compatibility mediators in blends consisting of a polyester matrix and of rigid side-chain and/or semi-rigid side-chain polymers. The filaments are used, in particular, in technical fields or in the carpet industry.

    • In order to produce a seamless edible cellulose casing (2) from non-derivatized cellulose, a solution of non-derivatized cellulose is extruded in tertiary amine-N-oxide, additives and water, out of an annular nozzle (3) whereby producing a casing, and is guided through an air gap into a water bath (4). The cellulose casing (2) is guided out of the water bath (4), is cleaned by spraying it with heated water, and is subsequently guided through at least two washing lines (9, 11) and a plasticizing line (12). After exiting the plasticizing line, the wet cellulose casing is pre-dried while in a flatly laid state before it is dried to its final moisture content. The pre-drier (13) is vertically or horizontally arranged and is comprised of an insulated tube to which air heated by heat exchangers is supplied in a precisely dosed quantity and at a constant temperature of up to 130 DEG C. The main drier (19) is horizontally arranged and contains tangentially and radially oriented air nozzles, whose air jets hold the inflated cellulose casing (20) in suspension during the drying method.

    • The invention relates to an edible flat film comprising cellulose, at least one filling material which is insoluble in an NMMO spinning solution or which is not dissolved, and at least one other component which is dissolved in the NMMO spinning solution and which impedes the structure of precipitated cellulose. The edible film is made of a spinning material containing NMMO monohydrate, cellulose dissolved therein and at least one other component which is dissolved therein and which impedes the structure of precipitated cellulose (said component is, preferably, a protein), at least one filling material which is not dissolved in the spinning material (preferably wheat bran) and, optionally, non-dissolved fibres. The spinning material is extruded through a wide-slotted nozzle and or an annular slotted nozzle having a large diameter and is then precipitated in a diluted aqueous NMMO bath. The flat film has substantially the same mechanical properties as a collagen shell i.e. it can be chewed just as easily. The film is used, for instance, in packing boiled ham.
