    • A system for treating a vascular condition comprises a catheter having at least one lumen, a stem received within a distal portion of the lumen, a sealing member positioned on the stem, and a balloon operably attached to a distal portion of the catheter. The stem includes a proximal body portion, a sealing portion, and a shoulder portion. The sealing member is movable with hydrodynamic force from an initial air-release position on the proximal body portion of the stem to a sealed position on the sealing portion of the stem. A method for purging a balloon catheter prior to use comprises injecting a liquid into a proximal end of a balloon catheter lumen. The injected liquid forces air through a gap between the lumen wall and a sealing member. The liquid then contacts the sealing member and repositions it to a sealed position.

    • A nasal splint and methods for using such splints are provided. The nasal splint may include an elongate generally planar member comprising first and second ends, and a first outer surface and an opposite second outer surface; a tubular airway extending along the first outer surface at least partially between the first and second ends, thereby defining a lumen having an opening adjacent the first end; and a structure on one of the elongate member and tubular airway adjacent the first end supporting a feature that is spaced apart from the first outer surface and configured to support a suture across the opening when the suture is directed through the elongate member adjacent the first end and the feature.

    • Apparatus and methods are disclosed to dilate a sinus ostium or other body passage. In one embodiment, the apparatus includes an elongate inner member, one or more dilation members disposed concentrically around the inner member, and an outer sheath. The inner member includes a distal portion that extends beyond distal end of the dilation member(s). The sheath is disposed around the inner member and dilation member(s) and is at least partially expandable to accommodate advancement of the dilation member(s) relative to the inner member, e.g., to translate axial forces into radial dilating forces, and dilate surrounding tissue within which the distal portion is introduced. Optionally, an elastic cover is provided over at least a portion of the inner member distal portion to enhance constraining the sheath, e.g., after withdrawing the dilation member(s).
