    • A hermetic compressor includes a hermetic container, a compression element accommodated in the hermetic container, and a motor element driving the compression element. The hermetic container has an inner space therein arranged to store lubrication oil. The compression element includes a shaft unit rotating about a rotation axis. The shaft unit has an oil-feeding passage provided therein. The oil-feeding passage extends upward from a lower end of the shaft unit. The shaft unit has an oil-spattering hole provided therein. The oil-spattering hole extends substantially perpendicularly to the rotation axis. The oil-spattering hole has a first open end communicating with the oil-feeding passage and a second open end opening in the inner space of the hermetic container. The second open end has a cross-sectional area smaller than a cross-sectional area of the first open end. This hermetic compressor supplies lubrication oil to sliding component, such as a piston, of the compression element, thus operating reliably and efficiently.

    • A hermetically sealed compressor includes a sealed vessel filled with a coolant and a freezer oil, an electromotive element including a rotor and a stator and accommodated within the sealed vessel, and a compressing element accommodated within an upper region of the sealed vessel and adapted to be driven by the electromotive element. This compressing element is provided with a shaft, arranged so as to extend vertically and having the rotor mounted thereon, and a bearing for supporting the shaft. A first oil pump is provided in a lower portion of the shaft and opening into the freezer oil, a second oil pump is provided above the first oil pump and formed by a spiral groove, provided on an outer periphery of the shaft, and an inner peripheral wall surface of the rotor, and a third oil pump is provided above the second oil pump and formed by a spiral groove, provided on the outer periphery of the shaft, and an inner peripheral surface of the bearing.

    • A highly reliable reciprocating compressor works efficiently with less energy, and produces smaller vibrations. This reciprocating compressor includes a crankshaft, a block, a piston, a connecting rod, and a balancing weight. The cylinder is placed offset such that an axis line thereof and an axis line of the main shaft do not cross each other. The center of gravity of the balancing weight is placed substantially opposite to the center of the eccentric section with respect to the axis line of the main shaft and deviated along a rotating direction of the main shaft from the place just opposite to the center of the eccentric section. The foregoing construction allows reducing lateral pressure of the piston, thereby increasing the reliability and efficiency of the reciprocating compressor, and allows to cancel unbalancing force produced by motions of the piston, the connecting rod and the eccentric section with motion of the balancing weight.
