    • PURPOSE:To make a clearance construction on the water chamber side small and uniform throughout the circumference of a penetrating pipe by a method wherein the cylindrical shells of an inner drum and an outer drum are pressed to form flat planes which have larger diameter than that of the penetrating pipe and to which the penetrating pipe is connected, the brims of the connection holes are perpendicularly bent outward for the outer drum and toward the combustion chamber side for the inner drum so that the penetration pipe comes in contact with the inside of the connection holes, and the penetrating pipe is fitted into them and welded. CONSTITUTION:To connect a penetrating pipe 11 to an outer drum 1, a part of the cylindrical shell of the outer drum 1 is pressed to form a raised flat plane 12 having a diameter larger than that of the penetrating pipe 11, and the brim of a hole is perpendicularly bent outward (burring) so that the penetrating pipe 11 comes in contact with the inside of the hole on the flat plane 12. After that, the penetrating pipe 11 is fitted into the hole and welded. On the other hand, to connect the penetrating pipe 11 to an inner drum 7, a part of cylindrical shell of the inner drum 7 is pressed in the same manner as for the outer drum to from a flat plane 12' having a diameter larger than that of the penetrating pipe 11 and the brim of a hole is perpendicularly bent (burring) toward the side of a combustion chamber 9. Then, the penetrating pipe 11 is fitted into the hole and welded. The clearance construction on a water chamber 8 side between the inner and outer drums 7 and 1 and the penetrating pipe 11 for fixing a heating element 10 can be made uniform and small throughout the circumference of the fitting part of the penetrating pipe 11 to the inner and outer drums 7 and 1.

CONSTITUTION:When the start switch is turned ON, a fan 21 rotates to cause combustion air to flow to the burner head and, after being smoothed by air smoothing holes 30 in the bottom 30 of a blow tube 27, further to a combustion area 29. The dynamic pressure distribution in the B-B' section of the fan case 22 is such that it is higher at the upper left corner in the bottom of the tube 27 and is lower toward the lower left corner. Based on the Bernoulli's principle, the static pressure is low at the upper left corner of the bottom of the tube where the dynamic pressure is high, and the static pressure is high at the lower left corner of the bottom. On the other hand, the air flow rate flowing into the air smoothing holes 30 is higher where the static pressure is higher. Because the number of the air smoothing holes 30 is larger at the upper left corner of the bottom of the tube 27 and smaller at the lower left corner, the air flow rate flowing into the tube 27 becomes uniform, and the flame in the combustion area 29 becomes stable, thereby enabling high burning performance.

CONSTITUTION:When the start switch is turned ON, a fan 21 rotates to cause combustion air to flow to the burner head 24 and to a combustion part 26 after being smoothed by multiple air flow smoothing holes 27 in a cylindrical blow tube 28. When the supply air rate reaches a certain level, a spark is generated at an ignition electrode 31, and fuel is jetted out of a fuel injection nozzle 30. The burning is then started in the combustion part 26 as the flame is held by a stabilizer 25. Because the dynamic pressure is relatively low in the part covering the lower right to the right of the end of the flow tube 28, and the speed of combustion air is relatively low in the plane parallel with the end of the blow tube 28, the ignition electrode 31 does not greatly disturb the combustion air flow along the plane parallel with the end of the blow tube despite the fact that the ignition electrode 31 projects from the end of the blow tube 28 into the fan case.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent the malfunction of a combustion detector by providing a bottomed cylinder having smoothing holes at its bottom within a blast case which supplies combustion air, forming a part of the bottom part of the inner cylinder by a transparent plate, and providing smoothing holes in the transparent plate. CONSTITUTION:A large number of smoothing holes 5 are formed at the bottom part of an inner cylinder 4 so that air to be introduced into the inner cylinder 4 is distributed uniformly. Combustion air is mixed with a fuel supplied through a nozzle 6 and is ignited by an igniter 7, and forms a flame circumferentially uniform and stabilized by a stabilizer 8. Further, combustion air flowing via a blast route 10 passes through air holes 9 and is supplied to the flame stabilized by the stabilizer 8 to promote the combustion and to cause the burner to carry out a complete combustion. A part of the bottom part of the inner cylinder 4 is made of a transparent plate 12; smoothing holes are formed in the transparent plate 12. Thus, uniformity of air passing through the bottom part of the inner cylinder 4 and entering therein is not impaired, and allows the light of the flame formed in the front of the stabilizer 8 to permeate through the transparent plate 12, thus making it possible to sufficiently supply the light thereof to a combustion detector 13. Hence, even when the quantity of light incoming to the combustion detector may be changed more or less, the detector does not malfunction.
