    • PURPOSE: To enable power interruption in an emergency, such as an earthquake, without an additional installation work, by opening a power interruption switch when abnormal vibration information is received from a vibration sensor installed in a gas meter. CONSTITUTION: An abnormality judging means 9 installed in a gas meter 12 receives signals from a vibration sensor 8 and always judges whether the signals are seismic signals. If abnormality is detected by the abnormality judging means 9, a gas isolation valve 11 is closed and further a transmission means 10 sends an abnormality judgment signal. Even if no abnormality is detected, the transmission means sends a normal signal at specified intervals, for example, once a day. Meanwhile, a controlling means 15 installed in a circuit breaker 16 receives such signals. It then judges whether a received signal represents a normal state, seismic abnormality or a communication abnormality, and makes its judgment appear on a display 19. If seismic abnormality is judged, the control means also opens a power interruption switch 14. This makes it possible to interrupt the supply of gas and further the supply of power according to signals from the vibration sensor 8 installed in the gas meter 12 without adding a vibration sensor, and thus to prevent secondary disaster, such as a fire.
