    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel phosphor and to provide a fluorescent lamp using the same capable of saving the amount of rare earth elements to be used.
      SOLUTION: There are provided a composite phosphor prepared by adhering rare earth phosphor particles of a particle diameter of 0.05-1.0 μm to the surfaces of inorganic compound particles and a fluorescent lamp coated with a layer comprising the composite phosphor on the inside surface of a bulb. The inorganic compound particles desirably have a particle diameter of 5-15 μm. The inorganic compound is desirably the one containing at least one element selected from silicon, aluminum, yttrium, cerium, germanium, titanium, zinc, calcium, and barium.
