摘要： A DVD-R (1) has a main information area (2) where data is recorded in a track having a wobble and first and second control data areas (3, 15) disposed in the inner space closer to the center than the main area (2). The information structure and physical structrue of the first control area (3) are different from those of the second control area (15). In the second control area (15), predetermined physical format information and disk production information, for example, the last address of when data is written in the DVD-R (1) and the maximum transfer rate are recorded; and in the first control area (3), physical format information, disk production information, and key information for decyphering cyphered main information. Thus, even when data recorded on such a DVD-R (1) is reproduced by a DVD reproducing apparatus, control data is read to identify the disk and to prevent illegal use of the optical disk leading up to breach of the copy right.

摘要： When the content of start ID changes from 0 to 1, the start ID recorded in a subcode area on a tape indicates a starting point of the programme. The invention is provided with a storage device that stores the tape position for starting the re-recording of start ID=1, and start ID discrimination device for discriminating whether the start ID=1 is recorded or not just before the tape position at which the re-recording of start ID=1 is started. When it is discriminated by the start ID discriminator that the start ID=1 is recorded, the tape is rewound up to the position where the start ID=0 is recorded through up to the tape position stored in the storage means. Thereafter, the start ID=1 is recorded for a predetermined period of time. When it is discriminated that the start ID=0 is recorded, the start ID=1 is immediately recorded for a predetermined period of time from the tape position stored in the storage device to obviate cumbersome operation.

摘要： Even if the encrypted main data recorded on an optical DVD-ROM disk is copied in a main recording area of a DVD-R optical disk of direct read after write type together with control information including key information for encryption of the cryptograph recorded on the optical DVD-ROM disk and identification, information representing that the optical DVD-ROM disk is a read-only type, a countermeasure can be taken. For the countermeasure, control information including ineffective key information and identification information representing that the DVD-R optical disk is a direct read after write type is recorded in a subordinate recording area of the DVD-R, and the tracks in the main recording area of the DVD-R are made to meander at predetermined pitches. A DVD reproducing apparatus moves an optical pickup (42) toward the center of the DVD-R (10) until a meander detecting circuit (70) does not detect any signal component contained in a tracking error signal (Ste) and having a meander frequency determined by the pitch concerning the meander of the tracks in the main recording area of the DVD-R (10) and a fixed linear velocity. Hence the correct control information recorded in the subordinate recorded area located in the inner side of the DVD-R is sought.
