摘要： A communication device receives a plurality of information bits and determines a maximum number of information bits that can be encoded such that, after the plurality of information bits have been encoded using i) a forward error correction scheme, and ii) a block coding scheme, the block coded bits fit within a single orthogonal frequency division multiplex (OFDM) symbol. The maximum number of information bits is based on a number of repetitions of coded information bits by the block coding scheme, and a number of block coded bits for the maximum number of information bits is less than a number of data tones of the single OFDM symbol. The communication device encodes the plurality of information bits using the forward error correction scheme and the block coding scheme to generate block coded bits, and generates a physical layer data unit to include the block coded bits in the single OFDM symbol.

The channel access module accesses a channel of an unlicensed frequency band, which includes a plurality of subchannels. The scheduling module generates a schedule for a plurality of high efficiency wireless local area network client stations to transmit data to the access point via the channel of the unlicensed frequency band. The schedule includes information for the plurality of client stations regarding (i) a time slot in which to access the channel without contention to transmit data to the access point via the channel, (ii) a subchannel of the plurality of subchannels to use during the time slot to transmit data to the access point, and (iii) one or more spatial streams to use on the subchannel and during the time slot to transmit data to the access point.

摘要： A beamforming training packet is transmitted from a first communication device to multiple second communication devices. A trigger frame is generated at the first communication device to trigger an uplink orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA) transmission of beamforming training feedback from at least some of the multiple second communication devices. After transmission of the beamforming training packet by the first communication device, the trigger frame is transmitted to the at least some of the multiple communication devices. The uplink OFDMA transmission is then received at the first communication device. The uplink OFDMA transmission includes respective beamforming training feedback packets generated based on the beamforming training packet by respective ones of the at least some of the multiple second communication devices. A block allocation that indicates a plurality of contiguous tone blocks of a wireless local area network communication channel is selected for a multi-user, multiple input multiple output (MU-MIMO) orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA) data unit. A contiguous tone block corresponds to a respective device set having at least one communication device. Respective spatial stream allocations are selected, for at least some of the blocks, that indicate a number of spatial streams for the corresponding block of the data unit. The number of streams of a block is equal to a number of communication devices of the device set that corresponds to the block. A first field is encoded and transmitted to indicate the selected block allocation and the selected spatial stream allocations. A second field is encoded and transmitted to indicate a respective device identifier for each communication device of the respective device sets.
