SOLUTION: In relation to the horizontal deflection electrode of this flat display device composed by sequentially forming a linear electrode, a control electrode, a signal electrode, a convergence electrode, the horizontal deflection electrode and a vertical deflection electrode and by including a phosphor screen with a phosphor applied, the horizontal deflection electrode is characterized by that electron beam deflection regions formed by a plurality of electrodes with voltages different from one another are symmetric with respect to the X-axis, the Y-axis and symmetrical with respect to a point, and the electron beam deflection regions are connected together in the horizontal direction.
