摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for temporarily skipping a secure boot function.SOLUTION: A computer is configured such that a secure boot function is set as enabled by default. Depression of a power button 47 in a power-off state generates a startup signal. At the time of startup from the S4/S5 state, a switch 207 is turned ON, and a PP bit indicating physical presence is set at a register 211. In addition, depression of a specific key on a keyboard 37 causes a DE bit to be set at a register 213. When the PP bit and the DE bit are found, UEFI firmware stored in a firmware ROM 27 temporarily skips integrity validation of a boot program only for the current boot.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce standby power and recovery time.SOLUTION: A method includes following steps. A notebook PC in a stand-by state is shifted to an S3 state or an S4 state. Use positions A and B are set in the notebook PC. A GPS acquires present position information in the stand-by state. It is determined from a coordinate got by the GPS, whether the notebook PC is within or out of the use position A or B. When the notebook PC comes from the outside into the inside of one of the use positions, the S4 state changes into the S3 state, and when the same goes from the inside to the outside, the S3 state changes into the S4 state. On the basis of a GPS coordinate, when the possibility of using is low, standby power is reduced by changing to the S4 state, and when the possibility of using is high, recovery time is shortened by previous changing to the S3 state.
