    • A controller is associated with a cabinet which contains apparatus and components for performing operations or conducting processes. Associated with the cabinet is a housing within which is contained an air filtration material. Air is admitted and propelled for flow through that material and delivery into the confined space defined by the cabinet by a blower unit. The blower unit is controlled in response to the rate of flow of air through the housing in order to maintain a selected rate of flow in compensation for changes in impedence to flow of air through the material. Operation also is controlled in response to other parameters, such as pressure differential across the material, pressure differential across a prefilter upstream, a measure of the rate of air flow into the cabinet, ambient temperature within the cabinet, pressure differential between outside atmospheric pressure and each of the housing and the cabinet and relative humidity within the cabinet. Those operating parameters are continually analyzed with the results being used for control and/or record keeping.

    • An air flow controller is associated with a cabinet which contains apparatus and components for performing operations or conducting processes.     • A water filter connects into a waterline which feeds a faucet separate from the filter. A filter cartridge is seated within a canister and has an inlet and an outlet. The canister is removably attached to a cap in which is disposed an entrance port to communicate with the outlet and an exit port to communicate with the inlet. Also in the cap are an input port for receiving water from the line, an output port for delivering water into the line to feed the faucet, a passage which communicates between the input port and the exit port, a passageway which communicates between the input port and the output port and a channel which communicates between the entrance port and the output port. A diverter in the cap responds to a rate of water flow from the faucet of less than a predetermined amount for opening the passage and the channel and closing the passageway, while being responsive to a rate of flow greater than such amount for closing the passage and the channel but opening the passageway. A selector at the faucet is manually adjustable to determine which rate of flow occurs, that selection making the determination of whether the water delivered to the faucet has been filtered or has bypassed the filter. Alternative coupling arrangements permit the water filter to be readily connected into an existing water line of essentially any orientation by cutting that line at only one point.

    • The present invention is a device and method to install a compact disk media write-protect ring 104. The device 200 positions the write-protect ring 104 so that it is aligned with the center hole of the disk 100. Aligning the write-protect ring 104 with the center of the disk 100 ensures that the ring is in the correct location, thereby enabling the write protect function. The device 200 includes a hub 202 upon which the center hole of the disk 100 is pressed, thereby securing the disk to the device. The device 200 also includes a support 206 that surrounds the hub 202 and is connected to the hub so that it may move axially along the hub. This support 206 serves as a shelf for the write-protecting 104 and a press to assure good contact between the disk and the adhesive of the write-protect ring. In operation the write-protect ring 104 is positioned on the support 206 with the adhesive exposed and facing upwards away built the support. The disk 100 is then placed on the hub 202 with its data side down. As the hole of die disk 100 is pressed down upon the hub 202, the support 206 of the device 200 presses the write-protect ring 104 against the die, causing the write-protect ring to adhere to the disk.

    • A system for attaching an adhesive backed write-protect ring to an optical disk with the center of the ring aligned to the center of the central hole in the disk. A write-protect assembly is formed from a multilayer material having an adhesive backed label layer and a backing layer. The write-protect assembly includes a removable innermost area that, when removed, forms a hole having a diameter that is the same diameter as the central hole of an optical disk. The innermost area is at least partially surrounded by a ring shaped alignment area that is also removable. Finally, the alignment area is surrounded by the write-protect ring. The central area of the assembly is punched out to form a hole and the backing material is removed from at least part of the write protect area, exposing the adhesive coated surface. The assembly and an optical disk are placed onto an alignment cylinder. The alignment area of the write-protect assembly ensures that the center of the write-protect ring is aligned to the center of the hole in the disk. Finally, the disk with write-protect ring and alignment area attached is removed from the alignment cylinder and the alignment area of the write-protect assembly is removed, leaving just the write-protect ring attached to the disk. The hub of the plastic insert tray of a CD jewel case may be used for an alignment cylinder. In an alternative embodiment of the invention, the write-protect assembly is placed onto the hub first, and the design of the assembly is such that the hub helps remove the central area and the hub helps removal of the backing over the write-protect ring.
