    • The invention concerns a vehicle brake application device with an actuating arrangement which transfers the brake-actuation force introduced to the vehicle brake friction linings. In order to overcome the brake clearance, the application device comprises a brake clearance-adjustment device which is functionally independent of the actuating arrangement, is controlled mechanically, hydraulically or pneumatically and, at the beginning of braking, automatically overcomes the brake clearance between the friction linings and the brake member to be braked.
