    • An Apparatus and methods for communicating in a wireless access system using a medium access control protocol data unit (MAC PDU) is disclosed. The method comprises steps of receiving, by a mobile station (MS) from a base station (BS), a dynamic service addition request (AAI_DSA-REQ) message requesting to create a service flow, wherein the AAI_DSA-REQ message comprises a first MAC header type parameter indicating a type of a MAC header included in the MAC PDU of the service flow and a flow identifier (FID) identifying a connection associated with the service flow; transmitting, by the MS to the BS, a dynamic service addition response (AAI_DSA-RSP) message in response to the AAI_DSA-REQ message, wherein the AAI_DSA-RSP message comprises a second MAC header type parameter indicating the type of a MAC header included in the MAC PDU of the service flow; and communicating with the BS using the MAC PDU comprising the MAC header indicated by the second MAC header type parameter; wherein the MAC header type parameter indicates one of a generic MAC header (GMH) for general data packet transmission and a short-packet MAC header (SPMH) for small data packet transmission and a non-ARQ connection.

    • The present invention relates to a VoIP communication technique, and more particularly, to a method for performing efficient scheduling for VoIP communication and performing VoIP communication according to the schedule. According to one aspect of the present invention, a method in which a base station that performs VoIP communication with a mobile station allocates a resource to the mobile station comprises: a step of receiving a first CQICH codeword type from the mobile station; a step of allocating an uplink resource having a first bandwidth size type to the mobile station for every first interval type; a step of receiving a second CQICH codeword type from the mobile station; and a step of allocating an uplink resource having a second bandwidth size type to the mobile station. Preferably, the first bandwidth size type is preset to a bandwidth size for VoIP packet transmission, the first interval type is preset to an interval for said VoIP packet transmission, and the second bandwidth size type is preset to a bandwidth size for SID packet transmission.

    • A method for retransmitting data using an HARQ method and a mobile station using the same in a wireless telecommunications system are disclosed herein. When all bits of a resource index field in an uplink basic assignment A-MAP received from a base station through a specific frame are set to 1, the mobile station may not retransmit an HARQ sub-packet from an uplink subframe within the specific frame. In this case, the mobile station may retransmit an HARQ sub-packet from an uplink subframe within a frame subsequent to the specific frame. At this point, the uplink subframe and resource index of the subsequent frame respectively correspond to the subframe and resource index having the same index and resource index of an uplink subframe predetermined in association with the retransmission of the mobile station in a previous frame. The resource index corresponds to information indicating where the assigned resource is positioned within the corresponding subframe and how large the size of the assigned resource is.
