    • A memory control method and an apparatus thereof are provided to extend the cache memory capacity of a hard disc easily by using an USB type NAND flash memory, as being able to use the USB type NAND flash memory connected to an USB port as a conventional storage medium or a cache memory of the hard disc. According to a memory control method, more than one first storage medium(10) is set as a cache memory of a subsidiary memory device. A second storage medium(50) is connected through a port. The second storage medium is additionally set as the cache memory. The capacity of the cache memory is checked while the first storage medium operates as the cache memory. If the capacity of the cache memory lacks, the second storage medium is used as the cache memory.

    • A device and a method for measuring the residual capacity of a battery are provided to read voltage just one time in a range where a discharge curve of the battery is inclined gently, and utilize the previous data to increase efficiency of the battery. A device for measuring the residual capacity of a battery is composed of a voltage measuring unit for measuring voltage of the battery by a control signal and a control unit for measuring voltage by N times, which are set periodically by controlling the voltage measuring unit, and measuring the residual capacity of the battery by using an average value of measured voltages. If the voltage of the battery is in a pre-set voltage range, the control unit measures the present voltage and then measures the residual capacity of the battery by taking an average of the presently measured value and the rest values except for the very first value of the N number of measurement values(S303,S305).

A power managing apparatus includes a power managing method setting unit(100), a storing unit(110), a power controlling unit(120), and a timer(130).
