    • The present invention relates to a battery pack including rechargeable and dischargeable battery cells or unit modules ("unit cells"), and provides a battery pack such that: the unit cells are perpendicularly arranged in the width direction (transverse direction) of the battery pack separated by a certain distance from each other, thereby forming one battery module and one battery module group in which the battery module is plurally arranged; the battery module group is vertically arranged in two or more layers in the height direction (longitudinal direction) of the battery pack or is laterally arranged in two or more rows in the length direction (transverse direction) of the battery pack from the refrigerant inlet direction of a refrigerant inlet; a refrigerant inlet portion is formed on a lower portion of each battery module group; a refrigerant outlet portion comprises a first refrigerant outlet portion and a second refrigerant outlet portion; and the refrigerant flow channel between the refrigerant inlet and the refrigerant outlet is configured such that refrigerant fed through each refrigerant inlet cools the respective unit cells while passing through the unit cells, and then is discharged upward via the refrigerant outlet portion by passing through the first refrigerant outlet portion and second refrigerant outlet portion.

    • The present invention relates to a battery pack comprising a rechargeable/dischargeable battery cell or unit modules ('unit cells'). The battery pack comprises: a battery module group including one or more battery modules in which said unit cells are spaced apart from each other by a spacing for flow of a refrigerant and embedded within a pack case in the widthwise direction (transverse direction) of the battery pack such that the unit cells stand upright; refrigerant inlet units formed sequentially in the space between a lower surface of the pack case and battery modules; a refrigerant outlet unit formed in the space between an upper surface of the pack case and the battery module group; an electrical component located at one side surface of the battery module group and mounted in an internal space formed by the refrigerant outlet unit; and a refrigerant flow channel having a structure in that the refrigerant introduced through a refrigerant inlet port passes through each unit cell to cool the unit cells, and a portion of the refrigerant passed through the unit cells flows in a vortex flow to cool the electrical component and is discharged through a refrigerant outlet port.

    • Disclosed herein is a battery pack including battery cells or unit modules (unit cells) that can be charged and discharged, wherein the battery pack is configured to have a structure including a battery module group including one or more battery modules each having the unit cells mounted in a pack case in a state in which the unit cells are uprightly arranged in a width direction (lateral direction) of the battery pack such that the unit cells are spaced apart from each other by a spacing distance for coolant flow, a coolant introduction part continuously defined in a space between a bottom of the pack case and the battery module group, a coolant discharge part defined in a space between a top of the pack case and the battery module group, an electronic member located at one side of the battery module group, the electronic member being mounted in an inner space defined by the coolant discharge part, and a coolant flow channel defined between the coolant introduction part and the coolant discharge part, the coolant flow channel being configured such that coolant introduced through the coolant inlet port cools the respective unit cells while passing through the respective unit cells and some of the coolant having passed through the respective unit cells cools the electronic member in an eddy form and is then discharged out of the battery pack through the coolant outlet port.
