摘要： Apparatus and associated systems, methods and computer program products relate to isolating horizontal jitter component(s) from vertical jitter component(s). In preferred embodiments, at least one horizontal component of jitter is distinguished from at least one component of vertical jitter by fitting a curve to a digitally acquired waveform, determining the curve slope and statistical variance about the fitted curve over at least one time period, identifying a functional relationship between the variance and slope, and determining therefrom at least one horizontal component of jitter and at least one vertical component of jitter. Random and deterministic jitter components may be aggregated, in certain embodiments, so as to identify a vertical jitter component that reflects both deterministic and random jitter. In preferred implementations, the isolated vertical jitter component is subtracted from a total jitter measurement so as to better approximate actual signal jitter.

The user may select a region of interest within the persistence data for scaling and display. In this manner, the persistence data can be zoomed in/out and centered on the display. The interpolation algorithm may be automatically selected or set by the user from standard, bi-linear, bi-cubic, or super-sampling algorithms.

Typically, the measurements are histograms, tracking measurements, and/or trending measurements. The oscilloscope displays both the waveform and a number of icons that respectively show the measurements. Each icon is a miniature rendering of the corresponding measurement and may be static, periodically updated, or a real-time preview of the actual measurement data which is calculated in the background by the oscilloscope processor. A user can select one of the icons to display the corresponding measurement at full size on the display.

摘要： An oscilloscope apparatus and method of processing waveform data using a streaming architecture. The apparatus has multiple processing objects (processors) that share a common cache memory in which the waveform data is stored during processing. Each processing object (220) performs a sequential processing operation by retrieving a 'chunk' or portion of the waveform from the memory, processes the chunk of data, and re-stores the processed data into the same location in the cache memory. This process is generally repeated until the entire waveform has been sequentially processed. The apparatus operates using a 'pull' design wherein the last processor requests the next chunk to be processed from the preceeding processor. In this manner, the waveform data is essentially processed by pulling it thorugh the sequence of processing objects. The multiple processing objects may be implemented as a sequence of software processing objects in a processing thread or as separate hardware processors.
