摘要： 1480594 Cleaning teeth I LAING and N LAING 27 June 1974 [6 July 1973] 28548/74 Heading A5R A process for cleaning teeth, comprises directing a liquid jet, e.g. a water jet, containing solid particles onto the teeth. The particles are added to the liquid immediately before the formation of the jet and may be dispersed within a water-soluble paste, e.g. glycerin-polyalcohol. The particles may comprise soluble materials, such as polyvinyl alcohol, gelatin or pectin, with a hardened surface or coated with a substance which is insoluble in the paste or in water, examples of such coatings being carbonates or sulphates of the light metals or of barium. Alternatively, particles which dissolve in water only after prolonged action, such as calcium lactate, crystalline weak acids, dextrins or glues may be used. The water is preferably mixed with molecules of molecular weight exceeding 100,000 in the amount of a few tenths of one per cent, alkylene oxides being suitable to provide such molecules. The jet may be generated by a motor driven pump, a device directly connected to the water mains. or by a spherical or cylindrical injection container, in which pressure is produced by manual squeezing thereof.
