    • A battery pack increases coupled strength of a protection circuit module and an outer case, and realize a compact battery pack by physically coupling the protection circuit module coupled to a bare cell and the integral outer case by an adherent member. The battery pack includes a bare cell; a circuit module arranged on an upper surface of the bare cell and electrically coupled to the bare cell; an outer case integrally formed so as to cover a pair of short side surfaces and the upper surface of the bare cell including the circuit module, and coupled to the circuit module; and a label attached to the pair of the short side surfaces, a pair of long side surfaces and a lower surface of the bare cell. At least one protrusion part may be integrally formed an outer side surface of said circuit module. At least one tapered part may be integrally formed with said outer case.

    • A secondary battery includes grooves formed in a cap plate into which conducting support members are disposed allowing for the exact connection of a protection circuit board to a predetermined position of the battery. The secondary battery includes: an electrode assembly; a can to house the electrode assembly; a cap assembly; a protection circuit board electrically coupled to an electrode terminal of the cap assembly; and a conducting support member connected to a groove formed in the cap plate and soldered to the protection circuit board. The protection circuit board is electrically and mechanically connected to the groove formed in the cap plate, thereby allowing the protection circuit board to be exactly connected to a predetermined position of the cap plate.

    • A rechargeable battery includes: a bare cell; a protection circuit board installed on an upper surface of the bare cell; and a lead plate to connect the protection circuit board with the bare cell, wherein the lead plate includes a substrate fixing part fixed to the protection circuit board, a bare cell fixing part fixed to the bare cell, and a connection part to connect the substrate fixing part with the bare cell fixing part, the lead plate being installed such that the connection part is disposed between the protection circuit board and the upper surface of the bare cell. A welding strength is improved when the lead plate connecting the bare cell with the protection circuit board is installed, thereby prominently reducing defects in manufacturing packs and modules.

    • A rechargeable battery. The rechargeable battery is constructed with a bare cell, a protective circuit board electrically connected to the bare cell, a lead plate located between the bare cell and the protective circuit board, and a combining case covering an upper end of the bare cell, the protective circuit board and the lead plate. The lead plate is constructed with a first plate electrically connected to the protective circuit board, a second plate electrically connected to the bare cell, and an inside bending part connected between the first plate and the second plate. The first plate of the lead plate is bent around the inside bending part at 180 degrees such that the bare cell is coupled with the protective circuit board in parallel. Therefore, a distance between the bare cell and the protective circuit is reduced, and the capacity per volume of the rechargeable battery is increased.
