    • A cell voltage measurer of a fuel cell stack and a fuel cell system using the same, the cell voltage measurer including a plurality of terminals electrically connected to a plurality of separators of the stack, respectively; and a plurality of wiring lines coupled to at least one of a plurality of fastening mechanisms and electrically connected to the plurality of terminals, respectively. With this configuration, at least one of the wiring lines is blocked or prevented from being short-circuited by heat generated in the fuel cell stack, and has a sample structure to ease an wiring operation. Since the cell voltage of the fuel cell stack is stably measured to thereby measure (or check) the deterioration of a certain cell (or cell unit), the fuel cell stack is blocked or prevented from being suddenly stopped due to excess deterioration of the certain cell (or cell unit).

    • A plate type fuel cell system includes: an electric generator including a membrane-electrode assembly having a plurality of anode electrodes and a plurality of cathode electrodes arranged on opposite surfaces of a proton-exchange membrane and spaced apart from each other; an anode separator facing the plurality of anode electrodes and having a fluid channel adapted to receive a hydrogen containing fuel; a cathode separator facing the plurality of cathode electrodes and having an air ventilating hole; a fuel distributor having an accommodating part defined by a rib to accommodate the anode separator and adapted to distribute the hydrogen containing fuel to each of the plurality of anode electrodes, the rib being partially cut out to define a rib cutting part; and a sealing member contained within the rib cutting part. With this configuration, reaction fluid, such as a hydrogen containing fuel, is effectively prevented from leaking through the rib cutting part or a frame cutting part, thereby enhancing the stability of a stack and the power generation efficiency of the fuel cell system.

    • Provided are methods of screening compounds for any aspirin-related activity other than TAFI inhibition, and also for non-inhibition of TAFI. Compounds identified by the screening methods can be used to treat, prevent or manage in a patient pain, fever, colon cancer, pancreatic cancer or an inflammatory, platelet aggregation, fibrinolytic or hemorrhagic disease or disorder. Also provided is a method of evaluating test compounds for TAFI inhibitory activity wherein the TAFI inhibitory activity of these test compounds is compared to the TAFI inhibitory activity of aspirin or its derivatives or metabolites. Also contemplated is a method of treating, preventing or managing in a patient, pain, fever, colon cancer, pancreatic cancer or an inflammatory, platelet aggregation, fibrinolytic or hemorrhagic disease or disorder comprising administering aspirin or a derivative thereof or any other therapeutic having at least one desired therapeutic or prophylactic activity of aspirin to a patient in need thereof and administering to the patient a factor that promotes TAFIa activity, e.g. stablized TAFIa, to ameliorate one or more adverse side effects of the therapeutic. Compounds identified by the methods of the invention are also provided.
