摘要： A power consumption manager reduces inadvertent information handling system shutdowns by monitoring current discharge from a battery and commanding selected components of the information handling system to operate in a reduced power mode if current discharge exceeds a warning threshold. The power consumption manager recovers the selected components from the reduced power mode if the current discharge from the battery remains less than a recovery threshold. Monitoring of current discharge reduces inadvertent shutdowns from temporary surges in power demand from the battery and allows implementation of a reduced power configuration for the information handling system as total power discharge capacity of the battery drops with total charge available due to use of the battery over time.

摘要： A method of preventing LCD damage in an information handling system is disclosed. The method includes mounting an LCD in a screen portion of an information handling system. The LCD has a top layer with a particular hardness. Another step in the method is rotatably mounting a base portion of the information handling system to the screen portion such that the portions can assume a proximate position and a separated position. A material is affixed to the base portion such that at least a portion of the material is between the base portion and the LCD in the proximate position. The material has a hardness no greater than the hardness of the top layer of the LCD.

摘要： A retail terminal includes a first base assembly secured to a first mounting surface. The first mounting surface has a first mounting opening defined therein out of which a first electrical cable segment extends. The retail terminal also includes a second base assembly secured to a second mounting surface. The second mounting surface has a second mounting opening defined therein out of which a second electrical cable segment extends. The retail terminal further includes a core module assembly which operates to perform retail functions in a first mode of operation and a second mode of operation. The core module assembly is electrically coupled to the first electrical cable segment and attached to the first base assembly when the core module assembly is operating in the first mode of operation. The core module assembly is electrically coupled to the second electrical cable segment and attached to the second base assembly when the core module assembly is operating in the second mode of operation. The core module assembly and the first base assembly cooperate to define a first protective housing which completely contains the first cable segment when the core module assembly is attached to the first base assembly and operating in the first mode of operation. The printing step includes the step of printing the second video image on a portion of the transaction receipt with the printing device. A retail terminal is also disclosed.
