摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and method which can improve sterilization of the exterior of a container and, preferably, improve sterilization of the whole of a container.SOLUTION: An apparatus 50 for sterilizing a plastic container includes: a transport device 2 which can transport a container 19 along a predetermined transport path during sterilization; a clean room 12 which is delimited by at least one wall with respect to the environment and can transport the container 19 inside the wall during the sterilization of the container 19; a first external application device 11 which has an electric charge carrier source for generating electric charge carriers and sterilizes at least a part of the outer wall of the container 19; and a first moving device which moves the container 19 at least intermittently in the longitudinal direction during the sterilization of the container 19. The apparatus 50 also includes a rotary device 4 which rotates the container 19 about the longitudinal direction of the container 19 at least intermittently during the sterilization. The rotary device and the moving device can preferably rotate the container 19 during movement of the container 19 in the longitudinal direction thereof.
