    • In a toggle-type clamping device that drives by belt driving by a motor, to detect securely a break in a belt using a simple and inexpensive construction. A dog is mounted on a crosshead of a toggle mechanism, a proximity switch is mounted on a rear platen, and arrival of the crosshead at a predetermined position is detected. A position detector is mounted on a motor that drives the toggle mechanism via a belt and a ball screw. When arrival of the crosshead at the predetermined position (a mold touch position or a position at which the mold is open a predetermined distance from the mold touch position) is detected by the position detector, if the dog is not detected by the proximity switch, the clamping device outputs an alarm as an indication that an abnormality such as a break in the belt has occurred. Simply by adding to a conventional toggle-type clamping device a simple and inexpensive detection unit such as the proximity switch, the dog, and the like, abnormalities such as belt breakage and the like can be securely detected.

    • An abnormality detection apparatus for a mold clamping device, having a simple configuration that can be constructed inexpensively. A dog is mounted on the crosshead of a toggle mechanism of the mold clamping device and a proximity switch is mounted on a rear platen. The shape of the dog and the location of the mounting of the proximity switch are adjusted so that the proximity switch switches ON at a mold touch position of mold touch and switches OFF when the toggle mechanism, which generates a predetermined clamping force, locks up. An alarm is output if the length of time during which the proximity switch is ON during the process of clamping the mold or opening the mold exceeds a predetermined reference value. If in the interval from mold touch to lock-up a large load is put on a servo motor and a belt that drive the crosshead and an abnormality such as breakage of the belt or the like occurs during this interval, it can be detected at once. Simply by adding a dog and a proximity switch enables breakage of the belt to be detected with ease.

This leg portion is formed with a pin hole, which receives a pivot pin that fixes the stationary platen for angular motion around a vertical axis, and bolt holes, which receive tilt adjusting bolts for adjusting a longitudinal tilt of a mold mounting surface of the stationary platen with respect to the vertical axis. The parallelism between the stationary platen and the movable platen can be easily adjusted by regulating the angular motion of the stationary platen around the pivot pin and the longitudinal tilt of the stationary platen by the adjusting bolts.

    • A stationary platen of an injection molding machine is composed of a mold mounting plate, a tie-bar connecting member, and a mold clamping force transmission plate. The mold mounting plate is formed of a planar portion for mold fixing and a cylindrical connecting portion that extends from the planar portion and passes through a central through hole of the tie-bar connecting member. The mold clamping force transmission plate connects the cylindrical connecting portion of the mold mounting plate and the tie-bar connecting member with a predetermined gap therebetween lest the connecting member and the mounting plate come into contact and interfere with each other.
