摘要： An object of the present invention is to provide a method for manufacturing a bared optical fiber having a good end surface of a coating when the coating of the coated optical fiber is removed, and a device for manufacturing the same. To achieve the above object, according to the invention, a laser beam is applied to an coated optical to fuse the coating or work the coating in other manners, if a coating material has a lower melting point as compared with the material of the bared optical fiber to remove the coating, whereby a bared optical fiber is manufactured. In addition, a cyanogen gas generated when the coating of the coated optical fiber is fused or worked in other manners is decomposed by ozone, thereby being made harmless.

摘要： There is provided an optical connector device which prevents leakage of light until right before connectors are connected to each other and is small-sized by a reduction in space for housing shutters. The optical connector device is an optical connector device comprising a first optical connector and a second optical connector. When shutters for shutting out light from the optical connectors are collided with each other, the shutters move to positions where they do not shut out the light. Therefore, the first optical connector and the second optical connector are connected to each other. After moving, the shutter of the first optical connector and the shutter of the second optical connector are inserted into the second optical connector while remaining contacting each other.

摘要： An optical interconnection apparatus which is very easy to handle and does not cause excessive bending and breakage of the optical fibers when connecting with other optical apparatus is provided. The optical interconnection apparatus includes a base sheet and plural optical fibers two-dimensionally routed on the base sheet via an adhesive layer. The optical fibers form a routing pattern having at least a straight part, a crossing part, a curved part or a fiber pitch changing part. The apparatus further includes another base sheet this is adhered on the said routed optical fibers. The two base sheets have a different sizes so that one of the base sheets does not exist in the vicinity of the edge of the other base sheet at which the optical fibers are outwardly extended.

摘要： When plug is fitted to adapter, optical fiber is inserted to an alignment hole for the optical fiber. By providing a taper at the entrance thereof, even if the tip of the optical fiber is deviated from the central position, the deviation is absorbed to make it possible for the optical fiber to be inserted smoothly. When two plugs is fitted to adapter, the tip of one optical fiber is confronted with the other one in the alignment hole, and excessive length L.sub.1 -L.sub.2 is pushed into the two optical fiber-bending spaces with a suitable distribution, thus the optical fiber buckles therein. The end face of the optical fiber is subjected to flat surface-polishing, removal of ripples after being cleaved, or chamfer grinding after being cleaved. The buckling portion of the optical fiber is coated with carbon or the like.
