摘要： An image forming apparatus includes an image forming device to form an image on an image bearer and circuitry configured to accept, from a user, an input of a density level selected from a plurality of different density levels and control an image forming condition under which the image forming device forms the image. The circuitry is configured to correct density unevenness of the image formed on the image bearer by the image forming device and correct the density unevenness of the image at the density level accepted. The density unevenness is unevenness appearing in a main scanning direction orthogonal to a direction of conveyance of the image bearer during image formation.

A malfunction detector detects malfunction of the main driving device. When the malfunction detector has detected the malfunction, a recording material amount setting unit sets information indicating an amount of the recording material in the recording material container connected to the main driving device to a first value. A main driving device switching unit stops, when an amount of the recording material in the recording material container connected to the main driving device is the first value, driving the main driving device and then, when the driving devices other than the main driving device include one driving device having a recording material container connected thereto that contains a recording material an amount of which exceeds the first value, switches the main driving device to the one driving device.

摘要： A detachable carrying handle comprising a web section and a pair of parallel limb sections for carrying a portable equipment having on each side a recess and a projection which is aligned with the projection on the other side. Each limb section comprises a first part connected to the web section and a second part pivotally connected to the first part. The first part is formed with a longitudinally extending recess into which the projection is inserted by moving the handle in a direction away from the equipment and a pin which is transversely releasably received in the equipment recess. The upper edge of the second part is urged about its pivot by a spring toward the equipment and is engageable with the projection when the latter is received in the longitudinal recess so that the handle is held in an upright position. The handle can be tilted sideways with a force sufficient to disengage the pin from the equipment recess and can be detached from the equipment by pivotally rotating the second part against the spring and moving the handle in a direction toward the equipment.
