    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a treatment agent which can satisfy required characteristics such as high adsorption efficiency, practical apparatus scales, water conduction conditions and long-term durability when removing heavy metals of arsenic, selenium, lead, cadmium and chromium from contaminated water, and a useful treatment method using such the treatment agent.
      SOLUTION: The treatment agent is for removing the heavy metals from the contaminated water containing at least one kind of heavy metals of arsenic, selenium, lead, cadmium and chromium, and is made by calcining an iron powder containing sulfur into a form of granule. Such the treatment agent is brought into contact with the contaminated water containing at least one kind of the heavy metals of arsenic, selenium, lead, cadmium and chromium, thereby allowing the heavy metals in the contaminated water to be efficiently removed.
