    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inductor for forming an electromagnetic expanded tube, which has satisfactory cooling properties, excellent strength, and a high level of durability.
      SOLUTION: This inductor for the electromagnetic expanded tube is inserted into a tubular work from a front end side thereof and expands the work by electromagnetic force. The inductor comprises a conductor 1 wound in a coil form around the outer peripheral face of a shaft 10 and a coolant passage provided at a position between the conductors 1 or at a position between the conductor 1 and the shaft 10 as viewed in a cross section including the central axis of the shaft 10, for allowing the coolant to flow therethrough. The coolant passage is, for example, a coolant tube formed of a metal or an alloy and wound in a coil form by a noninductive winding manner around the outer peripheral face of the shaft 10.

      SOLUTION: The diameter of the core 2 between its tip end portion 12 and its base end portion 13 is a little smaller than that of the tip end portion 12. Square conductive wires 3, 4 having hollow portions 5, 6 formed therein in which a cooling medium flows are wound on the small diameter portion of the core 2 such that the square conductive wires 3, 4 come into contact with the surface of the core 2 and neighbor with each other. Further, an insulation resinoid layer 7 is provided so as to cover the conductive wires 3, 4. When the electromagnetic forming is carried out, the cooling medium is introduced from the end portion 3a of the conductive wire 3 and the end portion 4b of the conductive wire 4, and is discharged from the end portion 3b of the conductive wire 3 and the end portion 4a of the conductive wire 4.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a long-lived coil for pulse magnetic forming which suppresses the occurrence of a gap during impregnation with resin, and to provide its manufacturing method.
      SOLUTION: A peripheral surface of a shaft portion of a bobbin 2 made of an insulator is wound with a resin-permeable glass cloth tape 3 to a predetermined thickness. A conductor strand 4 coated with a glass cloth tape 6 is wound outside it spirally along the axis of the bobbin 2 to constituted a coil. The conductor strand 4 is wound so that mutually opposed surfaces of adjacent portions of the conductor strand 4 are parallel to each other. A glass cloth 7 after being wound outside it to a predetermined thickness is impregnated with resin 8 to unite together the conductor strand 4 and an insulating layer at its periphery.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coil for electromagnetically expanding a tube, which has no part where the bend radius of a conductor is small, which is less prone to cause breakage due to the concentration of electromagnetic repulsive force despite repeated use and which is lightweight and compact for space saving.
      SOLUTION: The conductor 2 enters the inside of an axis 1 through the hole 3 of the axis 1, in a bend radius a little smaller than that when being wound around the circumferential face of the axis 1. The conductor 2 does not bend in the longitudinal direction of the axis 1. In the inside of the axis, the conductor 2 is extended toward the base end of the axis 1 while being curved smoothly and is guided toward the base end of the coil through the center (centerline 5) of the axis 1. In this case the bent portion 101 of the conductor inside the axis touches the inner face of the axis. If R1 is defined as the radius of the circumferential face of the axis 1 around which the conductor is wound and R2 is defined as the inner radius of the axis, the following relationship is satisfied: 0.5≤(R2/R1)≤0.95.
