By this structure, a fanwise injection pattern of injected gas-water mist can be made uniform while the particle size thereof can be made small and an object can be cooled effectively and uniformly by a relatively small amount of water.

A pair of hooks 8a, 8b intrude fully into the spaces S1, S2 of a pair of suspending handles 5A, 5B. An electrically driven cylinder 23 is actuated to move upward the hooks 8A, 8B and when the hooks attain a prescribed height, the cylinder 23 stops. The ladle cover 4 removed from a ladle 3 in such a way is kept held in an attaching and detaching device 1 and waits for the return of the ladle which is charged therein with a molten metal from the converter.
