    • PURPOSE:To prevent the wear of a bearing while preventing dust, etc., from invading into a bearing box by allowing the bearing box to have the bearing within it, sealing one side end of the bearing with a cover and the other side end thereof with many rows of contact type seals respectively, and connecting the opening end part of said seal with a pressurizing chamber. CONSTITUTION:A conveyor shaft 20 immersed in water is supported in its end part 23 by means of a bearing 22 held in a cylindrical bearing box 21. And, an opening 26 on the shaft end 25 side of the bearing box 21 is blocked by a cover 24. Further, the other side end 30 of the bearing 22 is sealed with three rows of oil seals S1-S3 inserted between the internal surface of bearing box 21 and outer peripheral surface 31 of the conveyor shaft 20. Further, the opening side end 32 of the above seals S1-S3 is communicated to the external water 38 via a pressurizing chamber 34 and seal clearance 37.     • PURPOSE:To permit quick and smooth attaching and detaching operation of a ladle cover and to improve the economic efficiency of equipment by the constitution in which the ladle cover can be removed and mounted simply when a carriage passes under an attaching and detaching device for the ladle cover. CONSTITUTION:A carriage 2 advances toward the direction underneath a converter and a trunnion 3a of a ladle 3 contacts a striker 24 and stops. A supporting member 6 is approached toward the direction of the trunnion 3a and when the projection 27b of a sectorial member 27 contacts the contact 28a of a limit switch 28, the supporting member stops. A pair of hooks 8a, 8b intrude fully into the spaces S1, S2 of a pair of suspending handles 5A, 5B. An electrically driven cylinder 23 is actuated to move upward the hooks 8A, 8B and when the hooks attain a prescribed height, the cylinder 23 stops. The ladle cover 4 removed from a ladle 3 in such a way is kept held in an attaching and detaching device 1 and waits for the return of the ladle which is charged therein with a molten metal from the converter.

    • PURPOSE:To permit easy and smooth regulation of the temp. of a molten steel by opening or closing the cover of a ladle for a molten steel by hoisting the end of a small cover from the front surface thereof to open fully the small cover thereby assuring substantially the upper space of the opening. CONSTITUTION:A ladle 1 suspended by a crane 40 is approached to a hook regulating device 6 and further the position of the ladle 1 is adjusted in such a way that a suspending handle 4 approaches diagonally upward toward a hook 5 and thereafter the operation of the device 6 is started. The hook 5 ascends diagonally when a carriage 7 of the inside frame advances. The hook 5 engages easily with the cross bar 34 of the handle 4 and continues to ascend diagonally as it is. A small cover 3 is then rotated by >=90 deg. around the axis of a hinge 28 and is therefore fully opened. Since the ladle is opened by the method of picking up the end of the cover 3 from the front face thereof, the substantial area in the opening after the opening of the cover 3 and the space above the same is assured
