    • PURPOSE:To improve the value of a decoration by sufficiently utilizing the contrast of gold and silver colors without diffusing a gold layer and a silver layer between layers by interposing a palladium or palladium alloy layer between a gold or gold alloy layer and a silver or silver alloy layer. CONSTITUTION:A palladium tube 2 having high purity is, for example, superposed on the outer periphery of a silver columnar rod 1, a 18K gold alloy tube 3 is superposed on its outer periphery to form a multilayer columnar post. In order to assemble it, the multilayer post is associated in copper dummy blocks 4, 5 having an inner hole to be engaged with the post, a gap 6 between the blocks 4 and 5 is evacuated, and they are circumferentially welded in the gap 6 to manufacture a columnar billet 7. Further, the billet is hot hydrostatically extruded with grease as pressure medium to form a composite rod. This rod is wire drawn, copper of its surface layer is removed, it is further wire drawn to form a 18K alloy clad gold/silver composite wire. Moreover, after a groove 10 is formed along the outer periphery of the composite wire in this manner, it is bent in a ring state, and coupled at its both ends by gold brazing 9, thereby providing a ring 10.

    • PURPOSE:To provide a titled rolling mill which can wind and mount an annular work around both rolls by the insertion and removal of an intermediate work roll and tension roll and can remove the product by constituting both the rolls in such a manner that the rolls can be inserted and removed in the axial direc tion of the rolls. CONSTITUTION:A mounting means 41 for a work 43 is inserted into a bearing hole 24 between holders 20 while the tension roll 22 is held by a roll rest 40. The roll 22 is inserted into the bearing hole 24 in the state of pinching the tension roll 22 by means of a pair of right and left pushers 38, 39. As a result, the annular work 43 is mounted to the roll 22. The holders 20 are returned to a horizontal position in this state and a forming tool 27 is slid leftward to press the work 43 by a forming part 29, by which the work is formed to the long elliptical shape shown by a chain line. A tensioning cylinder 17 is thereafter extended to insert the work 43 grasped by the roll 22 and the forming part 29 onto the extension line of the axial center of the intermediate work roll 12 existing in the standby position. The roll 12 is skewered in this state onto the work 43 so that the work 43 is wound and mounted around the two rolls 12, 22. The work 43 is rolled by pressing of a rolling-down roll 7.
