    • To provide a recording tape cartridge that can prevent removal of a leader pin from holding portions when the recording tape cartridge is out of use and in which manufacturing cost can be reduced, the recording tape cartridge includes a case; a leader pin including flange portions; an opening from which the leader pin is pulled out; a holding portions formed at an upper case and a lower case respectively, and holding respectively the flange portions of the leader pin in the vicinity of the opening; an overhang portion formed at at least one of the holding portions, and overlapping with the flange portion at an inner surface side thereof when the leader pin is held at the holding portions; and a claw portion formed at the overhang portion, the leader pin being able to enter in or exit from the overhang portion by being elasticity deformed.

    • A magnetic tape cartridge includes a cartridge casing and a single reel which is contained in the cartridge casing for rotation. The reel has a reel hub in the form of a cylindrical member which has a bottom wall and is provided with an opening and a stopper gear formed on the bottom wall. A brake member is provided with a brake gear and is movable up and down between an operative position where the brake gear is brought into engagement with the stopper gear to prevent rotation of the reel and a retracted position where the brake gear is disengaged from the stopper gear to permit rotation of the reel. The brake member is normally urged toward the operative position and moved to the retracted position by a pusher member of a tape drive system which acts on the brake member through the opening in the reel hub when the magnetic tape cartridge is loaded in the tape drive system. A continuous wall portion is erected around the opening in the reel hub, and the brake member includes a horizontal portion and a continuous skirt portion which extends downward from the horizontal portion and is in contact with the continuous wall portion of the reel hub to close the opening together with the horizontal portion. The brake member is moved between the operative position and the retracted position with the skirt portion kept in contact with the continuous wall portion of the reel hub.

    • A magnetic tape cartridge includes a cartridge case, which is formed by fastening upper and lower cases integrally and has a tape leader opening in side walls of the upper and lower cases. Within the cartridge case, a single reel with magnetic tape wound thereon is rotatably housed. A slender leader pin firmly attached to the leading end of the magnetic tape is detachably held near the tape leader opening and between the upper and lower cases. In the magnetic tape cartridge, a small-diameter pin for fastening the upper and lower cases is press-fitted near a holding portion of the cartridge case which holds the leader pin.

    • In a magnetic tape cassette, a top end portion of a reel urging plate spring for urging a tape reel is subjected to a surface treatment to prevent from a friction. A distance between a couple of flanges of the tape reel is selected to keep a form of the wound magnetic tape, and to prevent the tape running from being disturbed by the increase of a contact resistance of the tape edges to the flanges. Additionally, positioning portions for positioning the magnetic tape cassette relative to a magnetic tape drive device are formed of a differential resin from the resin of the remaining part of the cassette case. Additionally, at least one of both end faces of each guide roller is surface treated so that the end face is not worn through its contact with the cassette half. Further, an information presenting section for displaying variable information is provided at a location other than label areas of the tape cassette.
