    • The disclosure is directed to systems, apparatus, and methods for online purchasing. In one example, a system includes a web server that presents purchase options and receives user input. The system may also include an application server that attempts to authenticate users to existing accounts using an account identifier, such as a user ID or email address. If a user does not provide an identifier corresponding to an existing account, the application server may create a new account. If the user provides an identifier corresponding to an existing account, but does not provide a valid password, the application server may create a provisional account. The application server may also associate purchases with the user's account and provide access to the purchased product. Purchases associated with a provisional account may be resolved with an existing or newly-created permanent account when additional user information is received, such when the product is registered.

    • A topical hair treatment or a topical dermatological or cosmetic composition includes a liquid having approximately 0.2 to 0.5 mg/mL of a xanthene derivative. The xanthene derivative can be a methylxanthene. The methylxanthene can be theophylline, caffeine, and/or theobromine. Preferably, the methylxanthene is caffeine selected from hydrous caffeine, caffeine salts, and complexes dissociated to yield caffeine. Caffeine is present in an amount of approximately 0.3 mg/mL. There is also provided a saw palmetto berry derivative present in the liquid in an amount of approximately 0.02 to 0.05 mg/mL. Preferably, the saw palmetto berry derivative is saw palmetto berry extract, in particular, hydrous saw palmetto berry extract. The saw palmetto berry extract is present in said liquid in an amount of approximately 0.03 mg/mL. The liquid can be a shampoo, a conditioner, and/or a combination shampoo and conditioner.

    • A context sensitive data input device (30) and method (100) can include a touch sensitive surface (32) such as a touchscreen and a processor (34) coupled to the touch sensitive surface. The processor can be programmed to map (102) at least one finger to at least one among a function and a data entry, recognize (104) at least one finger that has been mapped, and execute (108) the function or enter the data entry upon recognizing the at least one finger. The processor can be further programmed to map at least one finger to a short-cut menu or to a preset channel. The processor can also be programmed to recognize fingers of different users and to automatically switch to a particular user's settings, requirements or preferences upon recognizing a finger of a particular user.

Calculation of the particular healthcare provider's medico-legal risk score is performed using a computer program-implemented algorithm that automatically generates the medical-legal risk score in response to input of information about the particular healthcare provider.
