    • An apparatus that allows communication in critical incidents and/or other emergency situation utilizing a throw phone comprises a throw box, a headset, an on/off switch, a power supply source, connection ports, a plurality of electronic components, and a plurality of detective modules. The headset, the power supply source, and the plurality of electronic components are positioned within the throw box and electrically connected to each other. The headset allows a suspect to wirelessly communicate with a command unit where the command unit is controlled by a low enforcement agent. The throw phone allows the law enforcement agent to evaluate the surrounding of the throw phone and the suspect through the command unit. The plurality of detective modules provides additional information to the law enforcement agents so that safety precautions can be carried out for the safety of the suspect and the others involved.

    • A communications link for carrying data between a transmitter and a receiver operates according to a communications protocol (such as PCI Express (PCIe)) specifying a reduced-power link operating state in which the transmitter generates a reduced-amplitude electrical output signal and the receiver is to operate in a power-save mode. The communications link includes an electro-optical link and a circuit coupling an output of the transmitter to an electrical input of the electro-optical link. The circuit is configured to detect initiation of the reduced-power operating state and to send messages to the receiver to maintain a normal amplitude of an optical signal on the electro-optical link.

    • A source code monitor and method is provided having an interface for monitoring the execution of a source coded computer program by a processor. The monitor provides for nonintrusively detecting the actions taken by the processor while executing the source coded program, and determining during execution of the source program by the processor if there is a match between the actions as detected and an associated part of the source code. A display is provided for an indication of the actions performed and, if there is a match, an indication of the associated part of the source code. If there is not a match, an indication that there is not a match is provided. The interface circuit monitors signals on the target processor address bus, data bus and control bus. A code coverage analyzer box connects these signals to a code representing the process or action taken during each transition cycle and a local, or remote network connected, code coverage analysis server compares the action to a set of possible actions which can be taken by the processor with the associated set of symbols representative of the different parts of the user code.

    • A remote acquisition and remote operation (RARO) device utilizes simple mail service (SMS) messages to control connected electronic devices. A cellular modem, which is provided a unique phone number through a subscriber identity module (SIM) card, receives and transmits SMS messages in regards to electronic devices connected to a plurality of ports. A microprocessor translates SMS messages from a user device into electrical signals used to control the connected electronic devices, and translates electrical signals from the connected electronic devices into SMS messages, such that the user can monitor the status of the connected electronic devices. A plurality of relays and a signal converter are also connected to the plurality of ports and assist in the control and monitoring of the connected electronic devices. A power input and power cable provide a primary power source for the RARO device, while a battery supply serves as a back-up power source.
