    • A computer system and node search method capable of reducing node discovery time in the computer system with a large number of nodes and a large number of supported protocols is proposed. The computer system includes a management server which is connected to each of first and second nodes via a network and collects and manages first information for each of the first and second nodes including network addresses of the first and second nodes and a protocol type of a communication protocol to be used when communicating with the first or second node. When the management server searches the first and second nodes over the network and detects the second node, it acquires the network address of each first node managed by the second node and the protocol type of the communication protocol to be used when communicating with the first node.

    • A processing control method whereby a management server: assigns work to and executes said work on a computer; sets the processing start time and the processing end time for the aforementioned work as task execution information; sets a first physical resource amount, which is the amount of the physical resources of the aforementioned computer needed for execution of the aforementioned processing; acquires a second physical resource amount, which is the amount of the physical resources of the aforementioned computer that are being used; updates the processing start time for the aforementioned work to a time that is close to the current time when the aforementioned computer has the physical resources of the sum of the aforementioned first physical resource amount and the aforementioned second physical resources; and instructs the aforementioned computer to begin the aforementioned processing when the current time reaches the aforementioned processing start time.

    • A resource distribution method capable of lending surplus resources among a plurality of services and reducing the maintenance cost of the surplus resources is provided. Computer resources in the standby system have a dead standby state in which at least an application is not installed. A plurality of services or a plurality of users share the computer resources in the standby system. As a result, improvement of the utilization factor of idle computer resources and server integration are implemented, and the cost required to maintain the computer resources is reduced. Furthermore, load prediction is conducted as regards individual services by using past operation history. Idle computer resources secured from services having surplus and maintained are thrown in according to a result of the prediction.
