摘要： The invention relates to the sizing of paper and board using alkenyl succinic anhydride (ASA). The invention provides a sizing composition which comprises an aqueous emulsion of an ASA wherein the ASA incorporates a maximum of 1% by weight (preferably a maximum of 0.5% by weight) of polymeric residues. The composition may incorporate less than 0.5% by weight of olefins. Paper sizing compositions in accordance with the invention provide enhanced resistance to penetration of the edges of paper and board by agents such as hot hydrogen peroxide and lactic acid.

摘要： The object of the invention is a sampling apparatus in a continuous industrial process for taking a sample of the substance to be monitored. The sampling apparatus is located on the wall of the pulp tank and it includes a sample chamber, which is equipped with a cover, and a filter. The sample chamber includes a closing device, by means of which the connection from the pulp tank to the sample chamber can be closed, as a result of which the filter remains in the sample chamber in the space between the cover and the closing device. The filter can be pulled out of the sample chamber for cleaning after the cover of the sample chamber has been opened. Another object of the invention is a sampling method and a cleaning method for the sampling apparatus presented.

摘要： The present invention relates to a size composition of improving the water repellency of paper in papermaking by virtue of adding prior to web formation to the pulp slurry such a sizing dispersion that contains at least a ketene dimer compound as a hydrophobic sizing agent, and further contains colloidal starch in an amount which is at least 150% by weight of the hydrophobic sizing agent. The invention is particularly applicable for improving the water repellency of paper containing calcium carbonate as the filler.
