摘要： An image forming apparatus includes an image forming mechanism and an image fixing unit. The image forming mechanism forms a toner image on a recording sheet. The magnetic flux adjuster reduces the magnetic flux active on the heat member to form a heat reduction area in an outer circumferential surface of the heat member in a width direction thereof. 摘要： An image forming apparatus includes an image forming mechanism to form a toner image on a recording medium according to image data and a fixing mechanism to fix the toner image on the recording medium. The fixing mechanism includes a fixing member and an external heater. The fixing member applies heat to the recording medium having the toner image. The external heater heats the fixing member and is formed in a shape corresponding to a surface of the fixing member. 摘要： A fixing device of the present invention includes a rotary body and a peeler rotatable about a support shaft and including an edge portion capable of contacting the surface of the rotary body. The edge portion includes a guide surface opposite to a surface that faces the rotary body. A first biasing device exerts on the peeler a force that tends to cause the edge portion to contact the rotary body about the support shaft. A guide guides the support shaft between a contact position where the edge portion contacts the rotary body and a non-contact position where the former is released from the latter. A second biasing device biases the support shaft toward the contact position. A guide member includes a guide surface that becomes substantially flush with the guide surface of the edge portion when the peeler is moved from the contact position toward the non-contact position against the action of the second biasing device.

摘要： An image forming apparatus includes a fixing device to fix a toner image on a recording medium by applying heat. Such a fixing device includes at least a magnetic flux generator, a heat generating roller, a magnetic shunt layer, and a protective layer. The magnetic flux generator is configured to generate magnetic flux. The heat generating roller including a heat generating layer is configured to generate heat by the magnetic flux. The magnetic shunt layer may be formed independently of the heat generating layer. The protective layer is provided on an inner surface of the magnetic shunt layer and configured to cover a crack formed in the magnetic shunt layer during fabrication of the magnetic shunt layer. An image is fixed onto the recording medium by the heat from the heat generating roller. Alternatively, the magnetic shunt layer may be integrally provided with the heat generating layer.
