    • An AC/DC switching power supply that realizes a high power factor and has little voltage stress on a smoothing capacitor is provided. Also a switching power supply that has little voltage stress on a switch and is suitable for reduction in loss and miniaturization is provided. A switching power supply comprises a rectifying circuit for rectifying an AC voltage, a smoothing capacitor for smoothing an output of the rectifying circuit, a series switch circuit formed by a first switch and a second switch connected between two electrodes of the smoothing capacitor, a transformer for inducing a voltage to be an output at a secondary winding as the first switch is turned on/off and the second switch is turned on/off in a complementary manner with the first switch, and a series circuit formed by a primary winding of the transformer connected between a connection point of the first switch and the second switch and one terminal of the smoothing capacitor, and a resonance capacitor, wherein a first magnetic element connected between a positive electrode obtained by rectifying the AC voltage and an intermediate tap of the primary winding is provided, the resonance capacitor is connected to the connection point of the first switch and the second switch, and the primary winding is connected to the positive electrode of the smoothing capacitor.

    • Disclosed is a rectilinear motion measuring device which measures the X- and Y-axis displacement errors by detecting displacements of a rectilinearly moving body, while measuring the pitching and yawing errors by detecting the angle of inclination of the moving body and measuring the rolling error by detecting the displacement of the moving body at two different positions. For these purposes, the rectilinear motion measuring device is provided with means for detecting the displacement of the light source of a luminous flux generating means, means for detecting the displacements of the moving body on a magnified scale of .times.2n, and means for detecting the angle of inclination of the rectilinearly moving body. On measuring the respective error components, the fluctuations of the light source are corrected to preclude variation factors of the light source itself, enhancing the resolution and the accuracy of the measurement by providing separately a displacement detecting optical path and an angle detecting optical path.

    • A low-cost, easily-miniaturized switching power supply restrains voltage stress on first and second main switches. The switching power supply has small loss and low noise, enables setting of duty factors over a broad range, and has reduced thickness. The first main switch has one end connected with a negative electrode of an input voltage, and the second main switch has one end connected with a positive electrode of the input voltage. A first magnetic element is connected to the first main switch, and a second magnetic element is connected to the second main switch and the first magnetic element. The switching power supply has: a first diode connected to the first main switch, the first magnetic element, and the second magnetic element; a second diode connected to the first diode, the second main switch, and the second magnetic element; and an auxiliary switch between the diodes.
