摘要： An object of the present invention is to provide a method for producing a liquefied fuel oil using biomass as a feedstock, in which a relatively inexpensive liquefaction apparatus is used; a good balance is maintained between the liquefaction of water-insoluble lignin and the liquefaction of water-soluble cellulose to achieve a high yield of the liquefied fuel oil based on the biomass solids content; and the amount of ash derived from an alkali catalyst and the like is low. The method for producing a liquefied fuel oil using biomass as a feedstock is characterized by adding, to biomass comprising lignocellulose, a solvent comprising an organic solvent and having a moisture content adjusted to 10 to 25 wt %, including moisture contained in the biomass, and liquefying the biomass at a temperature of 250 to 350° C.

摘要： Fuel supply in an ultrasonic atomizer is conducted according to a fuel increment ratio pattern in which the increment of fuel in fuel increment control for starting and warming up is 70% or less of that in a typical conventional pressure injection valve system, thereby improving startability, accelerability and fuel consumption rate and further enabling a reduction in exhaust emissions. When the engine is started in low-temperature conditions, the fuel is supplied by continuous injection to make uniform and reduce the mean diameter of droplets of atomized fuel, thereby improving the ignitability and startability. The fuel injection start timing is varied in accordance with the combustion chamber temperature at the time of starting the engine, i.e., when the engine is to be started in low-temperature conditions, no fuel is injected until a predetermined time has elapsed, and the fuel injection is started after the combustion chamber temperature has been raised by means of compression heat by driving the starter, thereby improving the cold startability even in the case of a fuel with a relatively high flash point. When the engine is in a transient operating condition, fuel injection from the ultrasonic atomizer is executed immediately before the velocity of an air stream in the vicinity of the ultrasonic atomizer rises, whereby the fuel that is atomized with a sufficient spread in the intake pipe can be carried in this state by the air stream to the combustion chamber where it is burned.

摘要： A gas oil according to the present invention comprises a gas oil fraction, and has a sulfur content not higher than 0.05 wt %, and either or both of (1) a content of bicyclic and higher aromatic hydrocarbons in a range of from 3.5 wt % to 15 wt %, bicyclic and higher aromatic hydrocarbons having at least one side-chain C.sub.3-11 alkyl group amounting to at least 80 wt % of said first-mentioned bicyclic and higher aromatic hydrocarbons, and (2) a content of nitrogen-containing heterocyclic compounds in a range of from 80 ppm to 500 ppm, nitrogen-containing heterocyclic compounds having at least one side-chain alkyl group accounting for at least 90 wt % of said first-mentioned nitrogen-containing heterocyclic compounds. The gas oil according to the present invention, as a diesel fuel, can impart anti-wearing properties by simply adjusting its components without the need for incorporation of an additive such as an anti-wearing agent. It does not cause wearing of a fuel injection pump, has excellent storage stability and can be furnished as an economical gas oil. It can also be furnished as a gas oil suited for use especially in cold districts.

摘要： In a fuel supply system for internal combustion engine provided with a fuel injection valve and an ultrasonic atomizer on suction pipe of the engine, the tip of the oscillator member of said ultrasonic atomizer is furnished with an inclined portion and a portion with reduced portion further ahead of said inclined portion. By arranging a fuel supply passage face-to-face to this inclined portion, the shape of the oscillator tip is modified, and it is possible to maintain adequate atomizing angle regardless of the quantity of supply fuel without attaching the fuel on inner wall of inlet pipe, to increase the turndown ratio and to achieve even spraying all over the circumference. Also, it is possible to shorten the starting time when external air temperature is low and to increase the combustion performance and the exhaust property, particularly, in an engine using the fuel difficult to ignite at low temperature such as alcohol, kerosene, etc.
