摘要： An object of the invention is to provide a prediction compensation device and its method in which the processing efficiency of the overall coding process is enhanced. The address of an object pixel block serving as a pixel block of prediction object among a plurality of pixel blocks is detected, a first search range or a second search range narrower than the first search range is decided as the search range of a motion vector for the object pixel block on the reference frame according to the detected address, and the motion vector is searched for from the decided search range around the predictor of the motion vector based on the surrounding pixel blocks adjacent to the object pixel block.

摘要： In a picture information encoding apparatus that outputs picture compression information according to a picture encoding system such as MPEG4/AVC, when it is determined whether the mode of a predetermined block is a skip mode or a spatial direct mode, moving vector information and so forth for all of predetermined adjacent blocks needs to have been computed. However, when each block is processed in parallel to speed up the entire processes, moving vector information and so forth of the predetermined adjacent blocks may not be always obtained. In this case, moving vector information and so forth of neighbor blocks instead of adjacent blocks are pseudo-used to determine the mode of the block without need to wait until moving vector information and so forth of adjacent blocks have been computed.

On the other hand, when the macroblock to be processed is subjected to field-based encoding, a field-based context model is applied for the syntax elements described below. 摘要： An image decoding method is for decoding a bit stream in an image decoding apparatus. The method includes receiving the bit stream and a weight parameter that is added to a luma quantization parameter by an addition operation. The method also includes decoding, in a decoding unit in the image decoding apparatus, the bit stream and generating a chroma component of quantized coefficients. In addition, the method includes performing, in a dequantization unit in the image decoding apparatus, dequantization on the chroma component of quantized coefficients using the chroma quantization parameter calculated on the basis of a luma quantization parameter weighted by the weight parameter.
