    • A video signal switching system wherein existing network components and the like are used to perform a switching process, thereby reducing the costs and improving the versatility as well. As a solution, a video signal switching system is provided which comprises a plurality of input port components that acquire non-packet digital consecutive signals; a plurality of output port components that output the non-packet digital consecutive signals; a packetizing unit that packetizes the acquired non-packet digital consecutive signals into packets after associating them with the input port identification information of the input port components having acquired them; a switch unit that distributes the packets to the output port components in accordance with the input port identification information associated with those packets; and a restoring unit that restores the packet signals distributed by the switch unit to the non-packet digital consecutive signals.

    • A work station included in a burst optical communication system has a semiconductor laser for performing light emission corresponding to a data pulse signal to be transmitted, and a bias generator for biasing the laser in accordance with a uni-directional power control technique. When an actual light output is detected to be decreased in accordance with a detection signal from a photodetector for detecting the actual light output emitted from the laser, a logic circuit in a bias generator charges a capacitor, thereby increasing the bias current supplied to the laser. However, when the actual light output exceeds an optimal reference level, the bias current stops increasing but is not decreased.

    • A current-balance switching regulator in which a plurality of switching power source portions are connected in parallel for the purpose of supplying a stabilized output voltage to a load. Each of the switching power source portions includes a switching control portion for controlling a switching element connected to the primary side of a transformer in accordance with the output voltage on the secondary side of the transformer. Current is detected on the primary side of the portions. When a current unbalance is detected, current balance is arranged by adding the amount of unbalance equally among the portions, so concentration of the load to a particular portion can be prevented. As a result of such averaging, the life of each portion can be lengthened. The portions are connected so that one is made a master and the rest are slaves, so the output voltage can be determined by a variable resistor or the like. A limiter is provided to limit the amount of unbalance added, and an integrator is provided so the amount of unbalance added is smooth so that operation is stabilized.
