    • A liquid crystal display device of the invention has data drive circuits provided along both of two opposite sides of a rectangular display region, and gate drive circuits provided along the other two opposite sides. With the liquid crystal display section, the gate drive circuits are formed severally divided, and each data line group respectively extending from each of the data drive circuits is electrically separated respectively by the severally divided gate drive circuits. Moreover, the liquid crystal display section comprises a color/time division incident optical system arranged so as to sequentially shine light with different chromaticity onto the display region, and a synchronizing section for synchronizing the liquid crystal display section and the color/time division incident optical system under predetermined conditions.

    • To provide a display device which can reduce driving frequency of a controller and a driver for inputting a signal to the display device and increase brightness of a screen without increasing the driving frequency. The display device includes: a display screen having a plurality of pixels provided by corresponding to intersection points between scan lines and data lines; a scan line drive circuit which drives the scan lines; a data line drive circuit which drives the data lines; and a display device body having an image display control device which operates the drive circuit so as to sequentially and repeatedly display two or more types of images. The image display control device causes the scan line drive circuit to simultaneously select two or more scan lines for at least one type of image among the two or more types of images sequentially displayed.

    • In a matrix circuit for an electrostatic recording device comprising a sequence of control electrodes, cross-point elements to be selected in pairs to cyclically drive the control electrodes, with two consecutive ones in the sequence driven at each instant, are arranged always along a common matrix conductor. The cross-point elements for the sequential control electrodes may be arranged in a reciprocating or a staggering manner along each pair of the matrix conductors, in a spiral manner passing through all matrix points, or in a somewhat irregular manner. The cross-point elements may be selected, with one of the pair for driving the trailing one of the two consecutive control electrodes again selected at the next succeeding instant together with another cross-point element for the control electrode next following in the sequence the trailing control electrode, by a logic circuit driven by a counter for counting clock pulses defining the instants.
