摘要： A passenger conveyer control apparatus includes various kinds of safety devices including a skirt guard switch, a terminal inlet switch, a chain safety switch and first and second microcomputers. The first microcomputer executes sequence processing corresponding to the operation of an escalator by the detection of an actuation of any of the safety devices, such as the start and stop of the escalator on the turn-on and off of the switches. The result of the processing is used for driving the escalator through driving means via an output memory. The second microcomputer executes processing by detecting the actuation of any safety device by the input signals from the safety device, whereupon a running permissive signal is outputted from an output terminal and executes processing for judging the operating situations of the safety devices of the escalator, and whereupon the judged results are communicated via a telephone interface and a public circuit to a centralized monitoring office which is in charge of maintenance.

摘要： An escalator comprises a plurality of treadboards, coupled with each other in the endless form, for conveying people thereon, a driving device for driving the treadboards, which has a driving mechanism, including an electric motor, for transmitting a driving force from the motor to the treadboards and a power converting unit for supplying electric power to the motor. Component devices of the driving device are categorized into two groups in consideration of heat generated in the respective component devices. Component devices, which are categorized into a group of heat generating devices, are installed in a machine room, and component devices, which are categorized into a group of heat sensitive devices, are installed in another machine room. The two machine rooms are arranged in different locations within an escalator frame, which are remote from each other in the direction of the length of the frame.

摘要： An induction motor, which drives an escalator, can be selectively supplied by both a commercial power source and a power converting unit. A control apparatus for the escalator has a trouble detector for detecting the occurence of a trouble or abnormality on the basis of an input and/or output current and/or voltage of the power unit, an actual speed of the escalator, a speed command for the escalator speed and so on. Usually, the motor is fed by the power converting unit, and the power supply thereto is switched over from the power converting unit to the commercial power source, when the trouble detector produces its output representative of the occurrence of a trouble or abnormality.
