摘要： An image forming apparatus transfers a toner image formed on a photoconductor drum onto a sheet-like recording member while the sheet-like recording member is transported and attracted to a transfer belt, and comprises a jam handling control unit for detecting a transport fault of the sheet-like recording member, and for stopping the transport operation when the transport fault is detected. When the transport fault is detected in a section other than a fixing section, the jam handling control unit first causes the transport operation of the fixing section, and thereafter causes the transfer belt and the transport operation on the upstream side thereof to stop, and any sheet-like recording member remaining on the transfer belt so that the transport mechanism on the upstream side thereof is transported and stopped at the position spanning between the area of the fixing section and the area of the transfer belt.

摘要： An image forming apparatus transfers a toner image formed on a photoconductor drum onto a sheet-like recording member while the sheet-like recording member is transported and attracted to a transfer belt, and comprises a jam handling control unit for detecting a transport fault of the sheet-like recording member, and for stopping the transport operation when the transport fault is detected. 摘要： In the present applying mechanism, a part of a guide sheet 33 bulges (arches) away from an oil application roller 16, with respect to a vertical line S passing through the center of a pipe 31. In other words, in the present applying mechanism, a part of the guide sheet 33 has a shape of avoiding (bypassing) the oil application roller 16 that has a high temperature. With this, oil flowing on the guide sheet 33 is kept away from the high-temperature oil application roller 16. On this account, it is possible to restrain the degradation of the oil flowing on the guide sheet 33 on account of the heat from the application roller.

摘要： In the present applying mechanism, a part of a guide sheet 33 bulges (arches) away from an oil application roller 16, with respect to a vertical line S passing through the center of a pipe 31. In other words, in the present applying mechanism, a part of the guide sheet 33 has a shape of avoiding (bypassing) the oil application roller 16 that has a high temperature. With this, oil flowing on the guide sheet 33 is kept away from the high-temperature oil application roller 16. The present applying mechanism can include an edge 50, or gap, in the guide sheet 33 for backing-up flow of oil to before the application roller in order to ensure even distribution of the oil to the application roller. The present applying mechanism can include a narrow gap between the pipe 31 and guide sheet 33.

摘要： A base plate detachably supports a functional unit all the way between an exposed position where the functional unit is separated from a connector and drawn out of a housing of an image forming apparatus such that the functional unit is exposed to the exterior of the housing and an accommodated position where the functional unit is fitted in the housing and connected to the connector. A biasing member biases a threaded shaft of an operating device through the base plate such that a far end of the threaded shaft is directed toward a threaded hole formed in the bottom of the functional unit. The operating device is hidden inside the housing of the apparatus when the base plate is set to the accommodated position.

摘要： The delivered sheet stacking tray has a delivered sheet stacking surface, provided on an upside of an image forming section, which extends in a sheet-transporting direction so that a transporting-direction end of the delivered sheet stacking surface is opened toward a lateral outside of the image forming device body, wherein the delivered sheet stacking surface has a sheet removing concave which extends from (a) the transporting-direction end via (b) a stacking area of a maximum size sheet to (c) a stacking area of a minimum size sheet so that the sheet removing concave is positioned within an area ranging from the stacking area of the maximum size sheet to the stacking area of the minimum size sheet, and the sheet removing concave is formed substantially in parallel to a line linking (i) a corner portion of the stacking area of the maximum size sheet which corner portion is positioned on a downstream side in the transporting direction and on a front side of the image forming device to (ii) a corner portion of the stacking area of the minimum size sheet which corner portion is positioned on the downstream side in the transporting direction and on the front side of the image forming device, thereby realizing a preferable stacking condition of sheets on the delivered sheet stacking surface, and making it easy to remove the sheets.

摘要： A protecting cover and a pickup device, each having a hooking portion, are rotatably provided at the flank of an image forming apparatus. The rotational centers of the protecting cover and the pickup device and the hooking portions are arranged in such geometry that the hooking portions become engaged with each other only in the range from a predetermined trace intersection to the flank of the image forming apparatus when the protecting cover is rotated from its usage position toward its retracted position at the flank of the image forming apparatus. The pickup device is stopped at the starting position of engagement where the hooking portions are positioned at the trace intersection when sheet feed is not made, and is moved to the operating position when sheet feed is to be made. The protecting cover is constructed so as to rotate in linkage with the rotation of a paper feed tray which is rotatably provided at the flank of the image forming apparatus.
