摘要： The auto engine start control of the invention regulates a throttle valve to a restricted opening to reduce an air intake flow at an ordinary start of an engine (step S140). When the driver stamps on an accelerator pedal to raise an engine power demand Pe* to or above a preset threshold value Pref, the auto engine start control regulates the throttle valve to a standard opening to ensure the air intake flow corresponding to the engine power demand Pe* (step S150) and thereby cranks the engine. This arrangement desirably dampens potential vibration induced by ignition at the ordinary start of the engine, while ensuring prompt output of the required driving force from the engine under the condition of the higher engine power demand Pe*.

摘要： A valve opening/closing timing control apparatus and method can be used with a camshaft whose rotation is synchronized with opening/closing timing of an intake valve or an exhaust valve in an internal combustion engine; a relative rotation angle adjustment mechanism which transmits torque of a crankshaft in the internal combustion engine to the camshaft and which adjusts a relative rotation angle between the crankshaft and the camshaft; and a lock mechanism which depends on hydraulic fluid, and which mechanically locks or unlocks the relative rotation angle that is adjusted by the relative rotation angle adjustment mechanism. The apparatus and method determine the duration of a time period from a start of the internal combustion engine until a start of relative rotation angle adjustment, based upon an unlocking force of the hydraulic fluid that is applied to the lock mechanism when the lock mechanism is locked and the internal combustion engine is started.

摘要： In a hybrid vehicle using an engine as one of power sources, an ECU obtains catalyst temperature. The ECU performs a catalyst warm-up operation if the catalyst temperature is lower than first catalyst temperature necessary for exhaust gas purification during a continuous operation of the engine. The ECU performs intermittency prohibition operation for prohibiting an intermittent operation of the engine if the catalyst temperature is between the first catalyst temperature and second catalyst temperature necessary for the exhaust gas purification at starting of the engine. The ECU performs a normal operation for allowing the intermittent operation of the engine if the catalyst temperature is higher than the second catalyst temperature. Thus, deterioration of fuel consumption due to catalyst warm-up is inhibited while inhibiting deterioration of emission in the hybrid vehicle.

摘要： By a QTL analysis and so forth using 4-HPPD inhibitor-susceptible rice and 4-HPPD inhibitor-resistant rice, a hypothetical gene (HIS1 gene) of an iron/ascorbate-dependent oxidoreductase gene located on a short arm of chromosome 2 of rice has been identified as a 4-HPPD inhibitor-resistance gene. Further, it has also been revealed that a homologous gene (HSL1 gene) of the HIS1 gene is located on chromosome 6 of rice. Furthermore, it has been found out that utilizations of these genes make it possible to efficiently produce a plant having increased resistance or susceptibility to a 4-HPPD inhibitor and to efficiently determine whether a plant has resistance or susceptibility to a 4-HPPD inhibitor.
