    • An optical disc has a first transparent substrate and a second substrate. The first substrate has a first surface and an opposing second surface. The first surface is a beam incidence surface for a laser beam in recording or reproduction of data. The second surface has first concave sections and first convex sections alternately formed thereon. The first concave sections are closer than the first convex sections to the beam incidence surface. The first convex sections have first top portions and first bottom portions closer than the first top portions to the beam incidence surface. First pre-pits carrying auxiliary information related to the data is formed on the first top portions. Each first top portion has a first width orthogonal to a direction of tracks on the first substrate. A second width orthogonal to the above direction between two first top portions of adjacent first convex sections having a first concave section therebetween is narrower than the first width. The second substrate has second concave sections and second convex sections alternately formed thereon. The second concave sections are closer than the second convex sections to the beam incidence surface. The second convex sections have second top portions and second bottom portions closer than the second top portions to the beam incidence surface. Second pre-pits carrying auxiliary information related to the data is formed on the second top portions. Each second top portion has a third width orthogonal to the above direction on the second transparent substrate. A fourth width orthogonal to the direction of tracks between two second top portions of adjacent second convex sections having a second concave section therebetween is narrower than the third width. Recording layers are formed on the first concave and second concave sections. The recording layers are formed in order between the substrates.

    • An optical disk has a first and a second intermediate disk structure. The first structure includes at least a first transparent substrate, a first recording layer, and a first reflective layer. The first substrate has a first surface and a second surface. The first surface is a beam incidence surface for a laser beam in recording or reproduction of data. The second surface has a first concave section and a first convex section formed thereon. The first recording layer and the first reflective layer are stack in order on the second surface via the first concave and convex sections. The second structure includes at least a second substrate, a second reflective layer, and a second recording layer. The second substrate has a second concave section and a second convex section formed thereon. The second reflective layer and the second recording layer are stack in order on the second substrate via the second concave and convex sections. The first and second structures are bonded to each other so that the first reflective layer faces the second recording layer, the first concave section becomes closer to the beam incidence surface than the first convex section does, and the second concave section becomes closer to the beam incidence surface than the second convex section does. The first recording layer has a first data-storage area on the first concave section. The second recording layer has a second data-storage area on the second concave section. Each of the first and second convex sections has at least one pre-pit formed thereon. The pre-pit carries auxiliary information related to the data to be recorded or reproduced.

    • An optical disk has a first intermediate disk structure and a second intermediate disk structure. The first intermediate disk structure has at least a first optically-transparent substrate and a first recording layer, laminated in order. The second intermediate disk structure has at least a second substrate, a reflective layer, a second recording layer and an optically-transparent-resin thin-film layer, laminated in order. The second recording layer has an organic dye soluble in an alcohol solution or a Cellosolve solution. The optically-transparent-resin thin-film layer has a thermoplastic resin that is softened and deformed at a particular temperature or lower at which the organic dye of the second recording layer is decomposed when absorbing an irradiated laser beam in recording. The first and the second intermediate disk structures are stuck to each other via an optically-transparent adhesive layer as the first recording layer and the optically-transparent-resin thin-film layer face each other via the adhesive layer in which the optically-transparent-resin thin-film layer directly comes into contact with the adhesive layer.

    • An information recording medium is at least composed of a substrate having a microscopic pattern constituted by a continuous substrate of grooves formed with a groove portion and a land portion alternately, a recording layer formed on the microscopic pattern for recording information, and a light transmitting layer formed on the recording layer. The microscopic pattern is formed with satisfying a relation of P≦λ/NA, wherein P is a pitch of the land portion or the groove portion, λ is a wavelength of reproducing light for reproducing the recording layer, and NA is a numerical aperture of an objective lens. The land portion is formed with wobbling so as to be parallel with each other for both sidewalls of the land portion. An auxiliary information based on data used supplementally when recording the information and a reference clock based on a clock used for controlling a recording speed when recording the information is recorded alternately. Information is recorded in the recording layer corresponding to only a land portion by at least either one change of reflectivity difference and refractive index difference in the recording layer so as to be more than 5% for reflectivity and so as to be more than 0.4 for modulated amplitude of signal recording.
