    • This invention relates to a rolling mill apparatus and a method of shape control of a rolled strip which enables satisfactory shape control even in extremely thin rolling. A rolling mill apparatus of this invention has a rolling mill, which rolls a rolled strip P between upper and lower work rolls; a shape detecting portion, which detects the degree of flatness of the rolled strip in the width direction of rolled strip which has been rolled by the rolling mill; a spray portion, having a plurality of spray nozzles arranged along the length direction of the upper and lower work rolls, which sprays the upper and lower work rolls with coolant C; and, a shape control portion, which adjusts the spray amount and/or temperature of the coolant C sprayed from the spray portion based on detected information from the shape detecting portion, to control the shape of the rolled strip P. The shape control portion has two control modes, in which the relationship of the detected information of the shape detecting portion and the spray amount and/or temperature of the coolant C sprayed from the spray portion are inversely proportional, and switches between these two control modes based on the strip thickness of the rolled strip P.

    • The present disclosure relates to a hot rolling apparatus for manufacturing a metal plate by hot-rolling-treating a metal material including copper. The apparatus includes: a rough rolling device for rolling-treating the metal material, which has been heating-treated, a plurality of times with a back-and-forth movement of the metal material, to mold the metal material into a metal plate; a heat retention/application treatment device for retaining heat of or applying heat to the metal plate molded by the rough rolling device at lower temperatures than in the heating treatment, without applying bending; a finish rolling device for further rolling-treating the metal plate that has been heat-treated by the heat retention/application treatment device; a cooling device for cooling the metal plate that has been rolling-treated by the finish rolling device; and a support table for movably supporting the metal plate from below before and after the rough rolling device while the metal material is moved back and forth by the rough rolling device. According to the present disclosure, it is possible to improve the quality of the metal plate manufactured in the hot rolling apparatus, and also to improve the speed of the process required for rolling.

    • The rolling mill includes upper and lower work rolls, a roll bending apparatus for applying a bending force to the upper and lower work rolls, a roll shifter for axially shifting the upper and lower work rolls in opposite directions, and a back-up roll for supporting the upper and lower work rolls. The upper and lower work rolls have a bus having a contour comprising first to fifth regions. The rolling mill is adapted to have the large changability of plate crown effected by the roll shifting on plates with narrow or intermediate widths. The use of a combination of roll shifting and roll bending causes contours of the upper and lower work rolls to overlap deflection of the upper and lower work rolls, resulting in that a smooth roll diameter profile across the width of the plate to be rolled where the upper and lower work rolls contact the plate. Thus, it is possible to minimize the difference in a roll diameter, and to enhance the plate crown controllability, even for a plate having an intermediate or narrow width.
