    • Yarn winding apparatus comprises means for supplying yarn at a constant speed, a winder having a yarn traverser and a fixed guide acting as a pivot for the traverse motion of the yarn.The apparatus includes a force transducer for generating an electrical signal indicating yarn tension, a rotary pulsing guide for periodically deflecting the yarn to bring it into contact with the force transducer, a setting device for generating an electrical signal indicating a predetermined desired value of yarn tension, a comparator for producing an error signal indicating the difference between the force transducer electrical signal and the setting device electrical signal, and a regulator for regulating the speed of rotation of the winding spindle in response to the difference between the foregoing signals.

    • A method of balancing a spindle in a yarn winder comprising,(a) a base for supporting a yarn take-up means,(b) the yarn take-up means including,(b-1) a spindle driving mechanism mounted to the base,(b-2) a long spindle comprising,(b-2-1) a bobbin holding portion more than 800 mm in length including a first cylindrical hollow body, a cylindrical and substantially solid body connected to the first cylindrical hollow body and a second cylindrical hollow body connected to the cylindrical solid body, and(b-2-2) a shaft extending from a center of the inner end of the cylindrical solid body along the axis thereof through the interior of the second cylindrical hollow body and projecting therefrom, the shaft being connected to the spindle driving mechanism,(b-3) bearing means for rotatably supporting the spindle on the base, and(b-4) a bobbin holding mechanism secured around the periphery of the bobbin holding portion, for detachably mounting thereon at least a bobbin for taking up a yarn,the steps which comprise balancing the bobbin holding portion dynamically by field-balancing carried out by adjusting a test weight in each of at least three planes defined at opposition ends of the bobbin holding portion and an intermediate point therebetween, each of the weights being determined from sensing vibration data obtained by vibration testing carried out with and without an added test weight in each of said at least three planes extending at an angle to the axis of said spindle.

    • A yarn winder provided with a long spindle (1) having a length of, for example, more than 800 mm, and free from vibration even when used at a high working rotation is provided by various aspects of the present invention. According to a first aspect, the dynamic unbalance of the spindle (1) is corrected by field-balancing in at least three planes including the mid-portion of the spindle (1) by an influence coefficient matrix method. According to a second aspect, the respective spindle (1, 14) mounted on a revolving drum (9) has a natural frequency different from each other so that no resonance occurs when the two spindles (1, 14) are rotated at substantially the same rotational speed. According to a third aspect, a bobbin holding portion (2) of the spindle (1) is formed by two cylindrical hollow bodies (103, 104) each having shorter length that can be easily machined without eccentricity. The rearward cylindrical hollow body (104) has a thicker wall thickness in a region closer to a connection (130) to the forward cylindrical hollow body ( 103) and a thinner thickness in a region farther therefrom, so that a weight of the cylindrical hollow body (104) does not adversely influence the vibration of the spindle. Also, an improved method for donning bobbins (115a through 115d) on the spindle (1) without eccentricity by the use of a stop (124) for providing a vacant distance (P) adjacent to the topmost bobbin (115d) before the same occupies a normal working position.

    • An ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus capable of providing a B-mode tomographic image of and Doppler information on a moving member in a living subject. The apparatus comprises a cursor setting device which supplies a signal for displaying a cursor at a prescribed position on a B-mode display, echo tracking circuits which cause markers to track the image signals of a prescribed moving member at optionally selected positions on the cursor, marker setting devices for setting the initial positions of the markers, a synthesizer for synthesizing and sending to the B-mode display a B-mode image signal and marker image signals from the echo tracking circuits, and a position measuring circuit for measuring the position of the prescribed moving member on the cursor on the basis of the marker image signals from the echo tracking circuits. The apparatus can display a moving member, for example a blood vessel, within the subject as a B-mode picture which tracks the position of the moving member as it moves and can further electrically output the position of the moving member. As a result, it is possible to electrically store or process the position of the blood vessel. In particular, the apparatus makes it possible to easily and accurately measure blood vessels in the circulatory system, the amount of blood flowing through such vessels, and the volume of internal organs.

    • A ceramic heater comprising a ceramic sintered body of silicon nitride matrix and a heating resistor of an inorganic conductor embedded in the sintered body, characterized in that the ceramic sintered body of silicon nitride matrix comprises 8 to 19 weight % of a rare earth element when calculated by conversion in terms of the amount of oxide, 2 to 7 weight % of silicon oxide (SiO.sub.2) and 7 to 20 weight % of molybdenum silicide or titanium nitride, and that electrode clamps holding lead wires are brazed to the side surfaces of the ceramic heater respectively via metalized layers so that the heating resistor is electrically connected to the lead wires via the electrode clamps.The ceramic heater of the present invention is free from breakage of the heating resistor, change in resistance and deterioration in the structure of the ceramic sintered body of silicon nitride matrix, is superior in oxidation resistance, durability and quick temperature rising characteristics, and can be used continuously for an extended period of time at high temperatures while maintaining the excellent strength of the ceramic sintered body of silicon nitride matrix.
