    • A thermoelectric transducer apparatus comprises a group of thermoelectric elements having N-type elements and P-type elements alternately arranged in a single line and a number of alternately arranged heat-absorbing-type and heat-liberating-type plate electrodes to electrically and serially connect said N- and P-type elements. Each of said heat-absorbing-type plate electrodes is extended to form a pair of integral heat-absorbing heat exchanger plates projecting in a direction from said group of elements, said pair of heat-absorbing heat exchanger plates having a pair of first plane areas extending in parallel with the group of elements and oppositely from each other and a pair of second plane areas extending from the respective first plane areas to leave the groups of elements, the outer surface of each of said second plane areas of each heat-absorbing heat exchanger plate being respectively bonded to the adjacent second plane areas of the neighboring heat-absorbing heat exchanger plates by means of insulating adhesive agent. Each of said heat-liberating-type plate electrodes has a pair of first plane areas and a pair of second plane areas all similar to those of each heat-absorbing p-type plate electrode. First and second partition walls for separating the cooled and coolant fluids of the thermoelectric transducer apparatus are formed by serially connecting the first plane areas of said heat-absorbing heat exchanger plates and those of said heat-liberating heat exchanger plates.

    • A fuel injection type internal combustion engine has a pair of intake ports provided in a cylinder head to connect a pair of intake valve bores facing a combustion chamber with a single intake inlet end. A fuel injection valve is disposed in an orientation frm the intake inlet end toward both the intake valve bores and includes an assist-air supply means for finely atomizing the fuel. A valve operating mechanism is provided for selectively stopping the intake through one of the intake ports in accordance with the operational condition of the engine. A control means is connected to the assist-air supply means for controlling the assist-air supply means to stop the supply of assist air from the assist-air supply means in at least a portion of an operational region in which the intake through one of the intake ports is substantially stopped. This ensures that the impediment of the production of the swirl by the assist air can be avoided by stopping the supply of assist air in a condition in which the intake through one of the intake ports is substantially stopped to produce a swirl in the combustion chamber.

    • A rotary compressor comprises an input shaft, a compressor component and a clutch component movable between an engaged position where the compressor component is connected to the input shaft to allow a torque to be transmitted from the input shaft to the compressor component and a disengaged position where the compressor component is disconnected from the input shaft to prevent the torque from being transmitted from the input shaft to the compressor component. A hydraulic pump is drivingly connected to the input shaft to discharge a pressurized working fluid upon the rotation of the input shaft. The clutch component includes a clutch member disposed within a clutch cylinder and cooperating therewith to define a pressure chamber. A valve unit is movable between a position where the pressurized working fluid from the pump is allowed to be applied to the pressure chamber to cause the clutch member to be engaged with a rotor member of the compressor component thereby moving the clutch component to the engaged position and a position where the pressurized working fluid from the pump is prevented from being applied to the pressure chamber to prevent the clutch member from engaging with the rotor member to move the clutch component to the disengaged position.

    • A variable capacity compressor has a low-pressure chamber, a high-pressure chamber receiving the discharge of some cylinders and a discharge chamber receiving the discharge of other cylinders. An on-off valve between the discharge chamber and low-pressure chamber is actuated by an electric device, such as a servo motor. An electric circuit controls the servo motor so that it is driven for a certain time period in response to a signal to change the compressor capacity. A device operative with the on-off valve moves the valve forward or backward according to the rotation of the servo motor and makes the motor idle when it reaches the fore or back end of movable space. A plunger is inserted in a pressure room which receives the fluid pressure from the high-pressure chamber, and the device for moving the on-off valve is placed in the pressure room so that it directly or indirectly moves the on-off valve and can also operate as an opening or closing device for control of the valve of a connecting port between the high-pressure chamber and the pressure room.
