    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ground improvement method which can necessarily and sufficiently increase a strength without increasing the amount of a used solidifying material. SOLUTION: In the ground improvement method, raw soil and the solidifying material are agitated and mixed in an agitating mixer 3 mounted to a backhoe 1 to obtain stabilized soil, thereby increasing the strength of the ground. In order to increase the initial temperature of the stabilized soil immediately after the agitation and mixing, a powdery solidifying material and water is kneaded in a mixing plant 10 to produce solidifying material slurry, which is fed under pressure by a grout pump 13 to a discharge nozzle 8 on the agitating mixer 3 side. A supply passage of steam from a boiler 14 is joined to the middle of the supply passage of the solidifying material slurry, and the joining and mixing obtain high-temperature slurry whose temperature is higher than that of ordinary-temperature slurry. The supply route 20 of compressed air is merged at a merging part 23 in the middle of the supply route 19 of the steam and both are mixed. The slurry at the normal temperature is discharged underground from a discharge nozzle 8, the steam is discharged underground from a discharge nozzle 9, the three of raw soil, the slurry at the normal temperature and the steam are agitated and mixed, and thus the initial temperature of the stabilized soil is elevated.
