摘要： A system for converting a collection of data to a structured, printable and navigable document includes: an analyzer and a layout unit. The analyzer is coupled to receive a data collection source such as a web page associated with a wiki and other user parameters, and generates a representation of content associated with the data collection source. The output of the analyzer is coupled to an input of the layout unit to provide the representation of content. The layout unit is also coupled to receive a style sheet or other user preferences. The linearizer of the layout unit retrieves the necessary content using the representation of content. The retrieved content is then formatted by the layout selector of the layout unit to generate a paginated document and metadata. This output can then be printed on any conventional printer or manipulated and interacted with using applications or a web browser.

An image recognition application receives an input image, identifies a plurality of objects in the input image, estimates rectification parameters for the plurality of objects, identifies a plurality of candidate rectification parameters using a voting procedure on the rectification parameters for the plurality of objects, estimates final rectification parameters based on the plurality of candidate rectification parameters, computes a global transformation matrix using the final rectification parameters, and performs image rectification on the input image using the global transformation matrix.

摘要： A multifocal display for rendering a 3D scene as a series of 2D images. In one aspect, the multifocal display includes a display, an optical imaging system, a refractive focus actuator and a controller. The display renders the 2D images. The optical imaging system is image-side telecentric and creates an image of the display. The refractive focus actuator is positioned at the pupil of the optical imaging system. Thus, adjusting the refractive focus actuator alters a location of the image of the display but does not significantly alter a size of the image. The controller coordinates adjustment of the refractive focus actuator with rendering of the 2D images on the display. The waveform driving the focus actuator is preferably designed to reduce ringing and jitter effects.

摘要： A plenoptic otoscope enables three-dimensional and/or spectral imaging of the inside of the ear to assist in improved diagnosis of inflammations and infections. The plenoptic otoscope includes a primary imaging system and a plenoptic sensor. The primary imaging system includes an otoscope objective and relay optics, which cooperate to form an image of an inside of an ear at an intermediate image plane. The plenoptic sensor includes a microimaging array positioned at the intermediate image plane and a sensor array positioned at a conjugate of the pupil plane. An optional filter module may be positioned at the pupil plane or one of its conjugates to facilitate three-dimensional and/or spectral imaging.

摘要： A three-dimensional scene is modeled as a set of layers representing different depths of the scene, and as masks representing occlusions of layers by other layers. The layers are represented as linear combinations of atoms selected from an overcomplete dictionary. An iterative approach is used to alternately estimate the atom coefficients for layers from a light field image of the scene, assuming values for the masks, and to estimate the masks given the estimated layers. In one approach, the atoms in the dictionary are ridgelets oriented at different angles, where there is a correspondence between depth and angle.
